It’s not just Jake. I get this look a lot. Reminds me of a guy at the DMV, hoo too.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I built most of this curious contraption, but the text / ‘Devinette’ embroidery was outsourced. Hot-glue gunnery is problematic enough for me… it seems like operating a needle would really have been pressing my luck. Happy Mardi Gras, everyone!

Sorry for the short week… hopefully the next one goes a bit better. And now, a scene related to a different kind of mushroom.

Pete: “There are five different types of chairs in this hotel room.”

Ben Stone: “Holy f**k! What are they all doing in here?”

Pete: “These are five different types of chairs.”

Ben Stone: “Get ‘em outta here, man. This is too many chairs for one room.”

Pete: “There’s a guy that works for this hotel, his whole job is to find chairs. Look at this one. Look at it, it’s gold, and red and it’s kinda shiny, shiny thread… unbelievable… it is beautiful. And it feels… amazing.”

Ben Stone: “The tall one’s gawking at me, and the short one’s being very droll. I don’t like them.”

I will be out of town / away from my computer for the next several days so I apologize for the lack-o-comments. While I’m not sure how this will all play-out, I should have a new post ready for the big Thursday show and I’ll do my best to stop by and visit before then if I get the chance.

Have a good one, everyone…

Mandatory Dirty Harry post (something calmer Monday). Now, go ahead… have a great day.

Harry Callahan: ” I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: do I feel lucky? Well, do ya… punk?”

Darkroom No. 2

As today marks the one year anniversary of this blog I thought I’d post a second darkroom photo (Darkroom No. 1 was my first post so this seemed fitting). The multiple-mes are a result of keeping the camera shutter open for the entire time it took to process a print (6 – 7 minutes… after test strips and exposure).

My most sincere thanks to everyone for taking the time to stop by over this past year – I always appreciate each and every visit! Making the stuff I post here is a ton-o-fun, but it wouldn’t be nearly as exciting without such great folks to share it with. I might not have the highest stats in the world, but I definitely have the best visitors… you guys are awesome! Thank you!

I should have written down more information about this orchid. Although that would have required foresight. And minimal effort. And a pen. Sadly, only one of these was available at the time. Oh well. Have a great weekend, everyone!

David vs. Michael

Last Christmas I decided to make my mother a St. Michael piece. I’d make a drawing and layer that into a mixed media collage. Only one problem… who do you book for that modeling gig? In the end I wound up using Michelangelo’s David as a reference for my drawing. Clearly this is an identity crisis just waiting to happen.

Jason Bourne: “I’m definitely Kane. I just had a meeting as Kane. And he knew me as Kane. So I’m definitely Bourne. I’m also definitely Kane.”

It’s been all cold and windy lately. Which means it’s wind turbine time, I guess. And 80′s night. Naturally. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Confluence Tower

Need an aerial view of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers? Enter the 50, 100 and 150 ft observation decks of the Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower … pretty cool. I’d recommend visiting on a warm day, though. It’s a bit windy 150 feet up in the air. Who’d have thunk it?

Dr. Evil: “I’m gonna’ get you, Austin Powers! It’s friggin’ freezing in here, Mr. Bigglesworth!”

Mr. Bigglesworth: “Meeeeeewwwwwwww…”
