Hmmm… looks like this post is a ‘tiny’ bit off level. I suspected as much.
Not quite perpendicular, either. Now that’s a surprise. Or… not.
“Tiny bubbles… in the wine… make me happy… make me feel fine…”
– Tiny Bubbles – Don Ho
About this image: digital photograph, lightly modified
love the interpretation!
Thank you very much, sir!
I was hoping this one fit the theme okay…
🙂
Great picture. I’m not sure I would have realized what it was without the hints.
Thanks very much, Laura!
Yeah, it got pretty abstracted (to say the least)!
🙂
Hmm, what the hell is growing in your wine?
Not sure, F.L. –
it’s a bit crunchy, too.
🙂
I’m confused but I like the colours
I’m almost always confused,
but I’m happy you like the colors, N.M.! 🙂
Daddy long legs carrying a razor.
Hahaha…
I hope he remembered to lift with his long legs and not with his back!
🙂
Wow. I feel really stupid. I refreshed the picture several times, thinking it was not loading 100%. I was thinking wine glass, because of the tiny bubbles reference. Completely missed the ‘level’ comment. Wow. I really love this picture.
I think I was drinking at the time too 🙂
Wasn’t though I the time at.
*burp*
🙂
You really shouldn’t, Ms. D –
there’s a ton of white / negative space in this one. And a little Don Ho is enough to throw anyone off!
Thanks so much for your kind words! 🙂
This is such a great interpretation of the theme. I like the composition and the minimalism you used as well. I caught it as a level bubble first without hints. I guess I spent too much time working with tools.
Thank you so much for stooping by (and your kind words as well), Amanda!
I’m glad you saw that! Sometimes I enjoy really abstracting things, but I still like them to be recognizable as well.
Tools – they’re hard to get away from! 🙂
Very smart take on the challenge. In the ’60’s when my sister was learning to dance the Hula, the teacher just loved teaching the Hula dance for Tiny Bubbles!
Thank you very much, sir!
I thought this one seemed a bit more difficult than the others for some reason!
I wish I had some dance moves – it’s usually best for everyone involved if I remain seated! 🙂
Ha, was this government work?
Hahaha…
Close enough to it, Mr. J!
🙂
What’s weird is that you don’t appear to be perpendicular based on the right side, but the left side is fine. Your house is crumbling as we speak.
Yeah, I noticed that, too…
you would expect the lines on both sides to be closer to parallel… maybe I was close to perpendicular, but not at the midpoint? Hmmm… I’m confused.
🙂
this is reeeeally strange. i think i might have just zipped through the twilight zone. i saw the image, but there was no text and no other comments, just a box for me to leave a comment. so i did. i said “so what is it that we’re looking at” or something like that, but the second I hit “post comment” i realized what it was and then this texted version popped up with all the other comments. strange, huh!
Craziness, J.G.! Wouldn’t it be nice if stuff always loaded the way it was supposed to?! It would be a dream come true… (well, I guess I wouldn’t go quite that far, but it would be nice). 🙂
Wonderfully startling colours. I realised what it was without the hints but not immediately. I like that I had to stop and wonder about it.
Did you clean the food colouring out of your soft box for this?
Thanks very much, S.E.! I’m glad that it isn’t too vague (I was worried it might be).
Hahaha… there are still a few tiny speckles in there, but it’s better than it was! 🙂
Very nice! Just think, a few miles down the road, if this was as “level” as you could make it, you’d be really off! 🙂
Thank you, sir!
Ha! As it is I’ll just have to make due with some shims, I guess! 🙂
Spectacular shot my friend 🙂
That is very kind of you, RNP – thank you!
🙂
So that’s how contractors drink on the job, by filling their levels with wine? I never would have guessed!
Hahaha…
a difficult job, but somebody’s got to do it!
🙂
Great shot. Very cool. I won’t try and think of a pun using “level”.
Thanks very much, G.G.!
Yeah, I’ve already wasted enough time for everyone in that department! 🙂
Who would’ve thought a boring old level could make such a colourful fantastic photo. Well done.
I thought it was something a bit different, anyway.
Thank you very much, Tony! 🙂
Very cool! I like the refraction of light in the bubble.
Thanks, Annabelle!
I’m still considering either:
a) re-shooting this, or
b) doing a little air brushing to ‘fix’ those double lines on the right… hmmm… 🙂
It took me a second to figure out what this was. At first, I thought it was a really cool piece of furniture. It still looks like it could be a really cool piece of furniture. You may have something here…. 🙂 Amazing picture.
Thank you very much, S.D.D.!
Hahaha… yeah, I can see that, too! Maybe I can pitch this design to Ikea?! 🙂
I like it when it takes me a while to understand what I’m staring at….
This one got a bit more abstracted than I originally had in mind… 🙂
