Time for yet another installment of ‘unusual’ conversations heard only here!
Annabelle: “Are you okay up there?”
Me: “Yeah.”
Annabelle: ” Because you’ve been up there for quite a while…”
Me: “Yeah.”
*pause*
Annabelle: “So what are you doing?”
Me: “Just poking a few pounds of nails through a piece of cardboard.”
Annabelle: “Oh. Okay, have fun.”

Isn’t funny how those we love can understand conversations like that, without further explanation?
Absolutely!
And that’s very fortunate for me as well! 🙂
I love Anabelle…doesn’t really wanting to know, but simply concerned of whether she should have 911 on speed dial… 😉
Great image!
Hahaha… it’s a good thing she’s almost always able to remain calm, M.P.!
Thanks so much! 🙂
love, love, love this post and image!! 🙂
Thanks so much, J.G.! That is very kind of you! 🙂
I LOOOVE THIS (all caps) !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! I’m very happy to hear that, Dishy! 🙂
totally thought those were pencils at first.
i was real excited cus i’m obsessed with office supplies.
we’ll get into that later. great photo 😉
They do kinda’ look like some No. Two-bies, don’t they?
Glad they aren’t though… looks like an awful lot of pre-shot sharpening!
Thanks very much, B.D.! 🙂
LOL… You should have heard some of the conversation I had whilst preparing my trouble at the salon shot… I think it’s probably best all round if I don’t recount that in public… lol… But with shots like these as the end result, these odd conversations are worth the sacrifice… 😉
Hahaha… glad I’m not the only one, F.S.! I completely agree with you, though! And sometimes a bit of craziness can keep things interesting… keeps people on their toes, you know! 🙂
AHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! True story people. This happened. Welcome to life in our household! 😛
P.S. Awesome picture babe!
Eh. We’ve had stranger conversations.
Thank you very much, Annabelle! 😉
LOL! Neat piece 🙂
Thank you very much, Eden! You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to set this one up! 🙂
I’m no suck up. I don’t get it. What do the words in the image have to do with pounded nails?
Oh wait it is the definition of nail. NM haha
Ha – yeah, it’s pretty faint, Bearman…
I’m using it for additional texture more than anything else. On the plus side, it looks like you aren’t farsighted! 🙂
Now you’ve made your bed, lie in it 🙂
Psst all I see in the fine print is “thin, horny”
Hahaha… It’s amazing! I finally woke-up with no back pain!
HA! I never even noticed that until you pointed it out, F.L. – I had to go back and check to make sure you weren’t just messing with me! Hilarious! 🙂
Would I mess with YOU????
Not many words need to be said… to those who understand you well…
Nails, I had to look twice to see them!! AWESOME!!
That’s nice at times, isn’t it? Especially for me!
Thanks so much, Juana – this took forever to set-up, but it was a lot of fun! Well, for a while it was VERY boring, but it got a lot better! 🙂
You two make a good pair! I guess that’s what happens when two artists get together.
And nice nails!
Never a dull moment, Binky… well, not too many, anyway!
Thank you very much! 🙂
love this one!
Thanks so much, U.M. – that is very kind of you! 🙂
I know a man who keeps used nails to use again. He’s a reasonable man otherwise.
I know a family who reused their coffee filters. They rinsed them and hung them to dry on the clothes line!
Hmm… I have reused nails before… never coffee filters.
Of course (in all fairness) I’m more of a Cola drinker…
🙂
Hahaha… I know a few guys like that, Jason! 🙂
now that’s a penny I don’t need to think about.
A nice ‘change’, right, JB?! 🙂
Excellent set up shot SIG. I thought they were pencils to start with, too. My next thought was bed of nails. My third thought was that I don’t understand the title but that maybe I would if I were American. 🙂
Thank you very much, S.E. – they do look a bit like pencils… or a lawn gone bad?!
The term ‘Penny’ was/is used to designate different sizes of nails… ‘d’ is an abbreviation for penny…
I’m a little fuzzy on the history / details of all that (seems like I’ve read different explanations from different sources…) 🙂
Oh now I see. Thank you. LSD in the context of money is pounds, shillings, and pence. Latin I think. 🙂
No problem, S.E. – I planned on writing something similar in my original post, but then for some reason I managed to completely forget… that’s just how I roll…
🙂
I am amazed with the great things that you are able to come up with using simple everyday things!
Thank you so much, sir – that is very kind of you to say!
Basically the everyday subject matter often comes down to necessity…
honestly I need to get out more! 🙂
Sounds like Anabelle knows her man! 🙂
Almost too well – it’s a bit eerie at times…
*swami music*
🙂
I instantly thought of these Bon Jovi lyrics;
I wanna lay you down in a bed of roses
‘Cos tonight I’ll sleep on a bed of nails
Hahaha…
Rock on, Tony! Rock on! 🙂
Love this! Oh, and my usual conversation goes like this:
Me: Jim, did you eat the cupcakes on the counter?
Jim: Yeah, why?
Me: I was going to use them for a photoshoot.
Jim: Well why didn’t you do that earlier?
Me: I was waiting for the softer light in the window.
Hahaha…
Annabelle and I have had a similar conversation, too… only there was more sign language involved since my mouth was full-o-cupcake at the time!
Many thanks Bob! 🙂
Interesting, ink guy! How many nails did you use? I like the shadows in the background 🙂
Um… that’s a good question, Mary! It really seems like I should have counted, doesn’t it? I guess towards the end I wasn’t even really paying attention! 🙂
