Ah, yes… milk and eggs… the breakfast of champions (or a close second to Little Chocolate Doughnuts, anyway). Sadly, this is about the extent of my culinary talents… Anthony Bourdain I am not.
“…Little Chocolate Doughnuts. They taste good, and they’ve got the sugar I need to get me going in the morning. That’s why Little Chocolate Doughnuts have been on my training table since I was a kid…”

Where’s the coffee? Forget it — I’m going back to bed.
Hahaha… a few too many steps for me to handle.
I just stick with cola.
🙂
Lovely textures and tones, SIG.
I knew you’d come up with something. 🙂
Thank you, S.E. –
I don’t know… not exactly what I had in mind… ballpark, maybe…
🙂
I usually eat cereal…..
Truthfully I hardly ever eat breakfast…
I have absolutely NO appetite in the morning…
just thinking about food often makes me queasy…
🙂
mmmmmmm….donuts.
*om nom nom*
🙂
You do know how to crack the eggs open, right? Meh. Who am I to judge – peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are the extent of my culinary talents.
Wonderful picture… as always.
Hehehe – wait… you can take that hard stuff off?
That would improve the taste of these things considerably!
Thanks so much, Ms. D! 🙂
Having just given up coffee completely (as of last week) I’m so glad to see some nice refreshing water instead. Makes me feel so at home. It’s okay to put my feet on the table, right? Thanks. 🙂
No caffeine?!
Oh my! That sounds torturous, Dishy!
🙂
Oh wait.. that’s ..milk.
Guess I better put my feet down. Sigh…
It does look a bit like water, doesn’t it?
It didn’t out of the camera, but it sure does now.
🙂
Well if you are cooking, I am in…great shot as always!!
Hahaha…
does it smell like something is burning to you?
NOOOooooo! The TOAST! 🙂
Great mix of textures SIG!
Thanks so much, sir!
At first I tried to throw a bit of metal in there (a spoon), but it didn’t have a very old feel to it, I liked the simpler composition and the reflections were driving me crazy! I would have had to spend 2 days airbrushing the silly thing! 🙂
I think it’s an artsy Mr. Bill upside-down! 🙂
Hahaha…
No, wait!
Ooohhh!
Ooohhh!
Ooohhh!
🙂
Nice shot. Like you I don’t usually eat in the morning (coffee only), but I love breakfast foods and sometimes we cook breakfast for dinner.
Thanks, Mr. J!
We’re the same way… if there was a 24 hour breakfast food drive-thru we’d be there at all hours of the night! 🙂
Simple and expressive. Nice!
Thanks, Eden…
I really appreciate that! 🙂
ha ha! love the composition of this shot.
Thanks, U.M. – I ate all the doughnuts before I was able to take the photo, though. 🙂
Are they dinosaur eggs? Just wondering.
Ha! I sure hope not…
I don’t think this blog has been dinosaur proofed!
🙂
beautiful composition and processing! 🙂
Thanks, Marina!
For such a simple shot this one seemed to take a lot of finagling. Just one of those days, I guess! 🙂
Years ago I was in France staying at pose old hotel near Euro Disney. Included in the price was breakfast (I too don’t eat breakie). Anywho, I decided I would have one of those nice hard boiled eggs which were in a basket on the table . I got my spoon and gave it a good old whack and much to my horror raw egg flew around the room (landing I suspect on the back of a few people’s heads). Those French bastards didn’t tell me you had to use the friggin “egg boiling” machine which was located across the room. I still smirk every time I see an egg in a basket. Thought I’d share “)
In college I had a drawing instructor who was originally from the Philippines. He was a pretty cool dude… except…
one day he brought in a ‘special egg’. Long story longer, he cracked that bad boy open and inside was a nearly developed chick (a delicacy, he said).
I think he got a kick of watching the whole class turn multiple shades of green.
🙂
Ewh!
Glad it wasn’t just me…
🙂
good morning symbol …
Thank you, sir –
I wanted to try a bit of a different approach…
🙂
I like the table. And the shadows. And the fact that my cooking skills are so far superior to yours. I can crack eggs AND cover them with cheese and butter.
Thanks, U.M.!
Hahaha… okay, now your just showing off… that’s like Iron Chef kind of wizardry…
🙂
A nice rustic image, I’m imagining the eggs and milk came from a Pennsylvania dairy and farm house. then you mentioned those delicious chocolate doughnuts and my mind drifted… *drool* ..
Hahaha…
*om nom nom nom*
🙂
Great take on this week’s challenge!
I like to come up with something a bit different, but some of these have really had me scratching my head!
🙂
this week’s challenge fits right into your strike zone, I believe.
Hahaha… it SEEMS to… funny thing is I’ve been posting so much ‘warn’ stuff lately my buffer might be getting a bit thin in that area… I might be able to come up with something, though… maybe… I hope…
🙂
love the simplicity of this!
Thanks, B.D.!
I had a few more items I’d initially planned on including, but it seemed a bit more… ?elegant? this way. Maybe. 🙂
You make eggs look beautiful…..
Thank you very much, Juana…
Making them look good is one thing (keeping all those little bits of shell out of them is quite another)! 🙂
It is elegant! And somehow very wholesome looking! 😛
Behold the power of eggs!
Wait, maybe that was cheese…
🙂
