Here’s a dandelion for my 100th post. Taraxacum officinale (according to Wikipedia, anyway). I’m terrible at Latin. And remembering stuff.
Steve Zissou: “Who’s gonna tell us the Latin names of all the fishes and everything? You know I can’t remember all that s***. Please stop, Elanor! Elanor stop! Why are you leaving?”
Elanor Zissou: “I’m leaving because I don’t want to be a part of whatever is going to happen out there.”
Steve Zissou: “Nobody knows what’s going to happen. And then we film it. That’s the whole concept.”
Vladimir Wolodarsky: “That’s how we’ve always done it…”

Oh, my… I feel like picking up that dandelion and putting it in a vase!! Everything you do is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wonderful!!!
By the way I am terrible at Latin also, but then again…. why bother learning? what do we have Elanor for?
Thank you so much, Juana –
you have always been so wonderfully kind – I very much appreciate your visits!
Hahaha…. exactly! It’s her gig, you know! 🙂
Amazing pic, such great textures! And what a film, I love The Life Aquatic!
Thanks Mr. H – I appreciate that!
I’m happy to hear that – I’m a huge fan of Wes Anderson movies (and Bill Murray is one of my favorites as well)!
🙂
You’ve elevated the lowly dandelion to greatness! 🙂 LOVE the hint of heart shape!
Thanks so much, M.P. –
Wish I could take more credit for all that… luckily that stuff just came mostly built-in!
🙂
i am a sucker for any kind of flower, even a weed! i love this photo!!
Thanks, U.M. –
my father and my wife are on completely opposite ends of the Dandelion appreciation spectrum…
🙂
Nice!
Thanks very much, Eden!
🙂
Aw the official flower of summer. Very nice my friend.
Hahaha… you said it, sir! Summer on!
🙂
I know I’m in the vast minority, but I for one LOVE DANDELIONS! Hope you and Annabelle had a wonderful anniversary yesterday.
PS: Happy 100th!
My wife loves them, too!
I’m more or less neutral (probably because we don’t have our own lawn)…
Thanks so much, Dishy – you are very kind!
🙂
The shape resembles a heart. Nice!
Thanks, Ms. D!
I think it got a bit ‘smushified’ when I tried to bend the flower down into view…
🙂
OK, I give up, is that a friggin octopus in the background?
Hahaha…
It’s that cleaver land
sharkoctopus!🙂
dandelions are so photogenic!!
And
cheapplentiful, too! 🙂very interesting way of presenting the dandelions by contrasting it with an industrial metal background. Very nice indeed!
Thank you so much, sir!
I’m liking metal as a background more and more…
it’s got great textures and it seems fairly versatile!
🙂
I like Dandelions, too. This is like a glamour portrait for one of them. 🙂
That’s very nice to hear, S.E. – thank you!
I hear this one has a nice ‘walk’…
🙂
Dandelion in German: Pusteblume!
congrats for your 100th post!
Very interesting!
Thanks much, sir!
🙂
I really like these style of photos you do what ever the style is called. Did you know that Dandelion in Australian is Dandelion.
Hahaha…
I feel so worldly!
🙂
Cool effect and well executed as per your usual. One hundred already? Seems like you just started this a couple of months ago.
My thanks to you, sir!
Time sure does fly!
🙂
I adore your photography…just so you know 🙂
Thank you very much for your kind words, R.N.P.!
🙂
A dandelion never looked so good! It’s funny how taking away the color changes how we perceive things. Not sure what the background is, but it looks good, too.
Thank you so much, Binky!
That’s true… we get so used to seeing a world of color… I think I almost take it for granted at times.
The background is a metal plate covering up a bad spot in our store’s attic floor… they’re kinda cool, I think!
🙂
Wonderful shot – steampunk Dandelion whine ! I can hear it. Effective use of tone and background.
Thank you so much!
I really like using roughed up metal as backgrounds… they seem to add a bit of interest without being too distracting (I hope, anyway)! 🙂
this is a great photo, love what you’ve done with it.
That is very nice to hear!
I’m fairly happy with this one… for the moment, anyway!
🙂
Ahhh, dandelions. I never disliked them, but my mom had an almost OCD-like need to pick every last one out of our expansive yard growing up. Now I haven’t seen one in YEARS. Not a lot of yards in NYC, you know. Lovely!
Hahaha… I think your mother and father shared a similar ‘condition’! I think I might too, if I had a yard.
Thank you very much, U.M.!
🙂
