Here’s a tower… deal. Since I’m on an Alton kick. It’s printed a bit flat… someday I’ll probably scan the negative and pump up the contrast in a few spots, but for now, I’m kinda digging all the similar mid-tones. I think.
Prince: “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair…”
Rapunzel: “Not a chance, dude. Do you know how long it takes me to condition all this stuff? Get a friggin’ rope. Then we can talk.”
About this image: Scan of hand printed image (from Ilford 35mm negative)
Nice angles on this one.
Thank you, Laura!
đ
Somehow, I like the mood on this one. I get the sense that the place is old and abandoned and the level of contrast is contributing to this.
It definitely does have that feel… especially when you are there… it’s a strange place, but in an interesting way, I think.
Thank you very much, sir!
đ
The flatness works for me
I keep going back and fourth… I almost feel like it works in more than one way (my mood tends to determine which I prefer at the time, I guess).
đ
Lovin the lines, angles, flatness of the whole thing. You have a great eye for this sort of stuff.
You are too kind, Cecelia…
this one was just to hard to pass-up… not a lot of heavy lifting required (it was just asking to be photographed).
đ
Neat đ
Thank you, Eden!
đ
Rapunzel in Illinois? She sure has come down a peg or two đ
Hahaha…
I guess not even nursery rhyme princesses are doing too well in this economic climate…
đ
perfect dialogue for this image!
Thanks, J.G…
I was hoping that might liven the post up a bit…
đ
Gorgeous image, man! And that Rapunzel joke was fantastic…
Thank you so much for stopping by! AND for your kind comment as well! I was hoping it wasn’t just a little
offover the top…đ
All the straight lines drive my eyes crazy! Nice work!
Hahaha…
kinda’ like that ‘made you blink’ game kids used to play.
Thank you, sir!
đ
Neat perspective on the stairs. First an elevator, and now stairs. I predict tomorrow will be a ladder or an escalator.
Thanks, Binky!
I’d love to tell you I spent hours setting this one up, but in all honesty, it was pretty cold and windy out when I took this… pretty much a click and run job…
đ
It does look cold doesn’t it? I think you keep posting Alton images because you subconsciously want to go to Alton and get a peach with me! See? I’ve got you all figured out man. đ
Again with the peaches!
You have figured out how to mess with my mind, anyway!
đ
Hahahaha remember the other day when I totally read your mind and freaked you out? Now I can’t even remember what I knew you were thinking but the point is I knew… I sooo knew!
P.S. PEACHES!
P.P.S. I like your haircut. đ
Hmm… I can’t remember now either.
Of course you probably already knew that.
P.S. Again? Really?
P.P.S. I think a giant peach cut my hair. A farsighted one, too.
đ
Nice.
Thank you, sir!
đ
The tones look good to me dude.
Awesome! I’m like, totally stoked about that, S.E.! đ
This looks just like the tower I climbed last night to get to the park in NYC that used to be an abandoned above-ground subway track. I kind of love the emptiness in the background of yours. I won’t tell you how out of breath I was when I got to the top of mine.
No elevator?! I think I’d have had to admire the park from a distance.
I’m winded just thinking about it!
đ
Those stairs say “Exercise”. My body replies with “ugh…” Now I feel weary just thinking about it. Thanks…
Hahaha… I’m not sure I believe you, Tony!
Judging from the photos of that hike you posted a while back I bet you could handle this one quite easily! đ
Beautiful photo! And I love Rapunzel’s response. Fantastic!
Thank you so much – I’m very happy you enjoyed it!
And thank you very much for stopping by as well! đ
