Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken

I’m back! Ish. And sharing photographic results of a broken pool filter rather than a broken car. Huzzah! Annabelle and I had a lot of fun, and we got to see my family, which was also very nice (it had been nearly 2 years since our last visit).

In other sporting news, I’m afraid I’ll be cutting my blogging schedule to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for a while. With all the CrAzY changes lately I need a bit of time to get stuff… figured out. Have I mentioned I’m both bad with change and a bit slow? Anyway, have a great day everyone! I hope you enjoy the pool!

  1. Excellent image & welcome back (Ish). There is nothing so forlorn/mysterious/sinister as an empty pool on a hot hazy day. Very California Noir.

  2. Welcome back, Robert! Hope you and Annabelle had a great time on your vacation. Lookinf forward to seeing more of your stuff, even if it will be just three times a week.

The pool shot is kind of eerie. Empty pools just don’t seem right!

    • Thank you so much, Dishy! It was an Inky good time, indeed!
Fortunately the pool was taken here (before we left). We saw plenty of the Great Lakes, though… which were much more impressive! 🙂

  3. Welcome back! I missed your inspiration. I was actually thinking about you today and how I’m taking pictures to document my life, while you’re taking pictures to make ART. I really admire that.

But anyway, this reminds me of the pool episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. I hope you’re watching that.

    • First let me just say that you are too kind, U.M… and who says that life can’t be art?! You take spectacular photos yourself, you know!

ALSO… one of the best shows… EVER! I’m pretty sure I’ve seen almost every episode. Intervention! Intervention!
      🙂

    • Thank you very much, Bob!
Hahaha… it could have been a self-portrait, really.
I was pretty far back from the edge, but I still couldn’t shake the feeling I was about to fall in at any moment!
      🙂

    • Thank you very much, Astra!
I thought it seemed interesting… although I must have been the only one because no one else seemed to be hanging out by the empty pool. Go figure, right?! 🙂

    • Thank you so much! I try! I like creating different frames every now and then, too… that way I have something that seems appropriate for whatever mood I’m trying to create. Although sometimes I fear I rely on them a bit too much.
Thank you very much for stopping by, sir! I really appreciate your kind comment!
      🙂

    • Thanks very much, YAW – you are always far too kind!
Hahaha… I don’t think that warning applies if it’s been at least an hour since you’ve eaten anything… it’s got to be true… I heard it on the bus!
      🙂

  4. great photo.

and so so glad you guys had a great vaca and visit with the fam!

um, if there’s anyone who understand about not being able to post very often, it’s me. haha. NO WORRIES

    • Thanks, B.D.!

Yeah, wasn’t too shabby! Even for me – and I always find a way to find some shabby!

I’m not sure I can take it! At some point I may crack and go back to 5 posts a week again. Or down to 2. Just cause I’m all over the place like that. 🙂

    • Thanks, M.P. – I really appreciate that!
Hahaha… I think I did hear a rumor about Jimmy Hoffa hanging around those parts. Or was that the end-zone in Giant’s stadium? Hmm… one of those, anyway! 🙂

  5. First, welcome back!

Secondly, I can’t dive into this end of the pool nor wade because I can’t swim. 😦

Thirdly, I also have cut back on my posting schedule. Once a week on Monday’s for a while. Busy schedule aren’t always fun.

    • Thanks much, sir!

That secondly includes both of us, Mel… I find it much easier to sink than swim!

Sorry to hear about that, but obviously I understand where you are coming from on that front as well. You said it, sir! 🙂

    • Thank you very much, Mr. B – I really appreciate your kind comment!

I’m always a bit nervous about these things, but this time things seemed to go okay – so no complaints here!
      🙂
