I really can’t help where I go with this one. Simple mind, you know.
I’m on a boat…
I’m on a boat…
Everybody look at me, ’cause I’m sailing on a boat…
I’m on a boat…
I’m on a boat…
Take a good hard look at the *explicative* boat…
– I’m on a boat – Lonely Island Featuring T-Pain
About this image: digital photograph taken though viewfinder of Kodak Duaflex II twin lens reflex camera – moderately modified
Very nice, SIG. Love the colours, cool nostalgic feel. I even like the song, but I’d like to hear you singing it and I would also like to know what that expletive was.
Thank you very much, S.E… I’m still trying to get used to the whole TTV set-up, but it is a lot of fun.
Hahaha… it’s a pretty rude song, and a very crude hyphenated explicative, but the worst thing of all would be to hear me sing it! Cat’s fighting and scratching on a chalkboard would go over better!
🙂
Awesome! I wish I was on a boat! Actually I don’t… I get seasick too easily… but if I didn’t get seasick, I would so be on a boat right now! Maybe not one of these boats though… they look cool but I remember when we were walking by them and they seems to have more than their fair share of fish goo on them. But one of the other more sanitary boats near there… like a yacht, yeah, that I could probably handle. 😉
Hmm… good point, Annabelle. I guess that’s where the whole deck swabbing thing comes into play. And maybe we could weigh anchor. In some very shallow (and very calm) water.
“Hey, you scratched my anchor!”
😉
Okay, now I think you’re just messing with us. The elephant picture was a photograph, and this one is a painting. 🙂
Hahaha…
I wish this one was a painting! Just think of all the elephants who would be impressed and let me photograph them! 🙂
That’s such a nice boat! Great photo 🙂
Thank you very much, Y.A.W.! I haven’t spent too much time around large bodies of water, but I’ve always been a bit fascinated by boats.
Thank you for your kind comments!
🙂
Thanks, now I have a boat song stuck in my head. 😀
Is that a shrimp boat?
Hahaha… sorry about that, sir! Still, it’s probably a better song than most of the ones I get stuck in my head!
You know, I’m not sure what kind of boat it is… I took this photo on Lake Michigan, though (if that helps with identification purposes)…
🙂
Beula looks yar! Or something like that. 🙂
Great picture, SIG.
Hahaha… what a curious boat! Beula was looking here and yar! 🙂
Thank you very much, Ms. D – I really appreciate that!
The style and the subject work really well together in this shot. And now I have that song my head…
Thanks so much! It was one of the older boats I saw at this marina, and I thought it was pretty interesting.
Hahaha… sorry about that… I really should have posted a warning prior to the lyrics!
🙂
Dude look it’s the short boat.
Guess that’s why they tried to pull me on board?!
🙂
Cool shot!
Yeah, I figured you were a fellow Lonely Island fan… 😉
Thanks, M.P.!
Ha! I haven’t had any rotten tomatoes thrown at me yet over that, still, it’s nice to hear I’m not the only one!
I had a hunch you had a nautical themed pashmina afghan! 😉
so, you were on a boat, huh? 😉
great comp!
Hahaha… totally.
I’ve got my flippie-floppies right here… 😉
Thank you very much, J.G.!
Real neat aged feel to this one SIG..Unique way of achieving it too…
Thank you very much, sir!
I really like the idea of TTL… It’s definitely going to take me a while to get used to maneuvering the set-up, though…
🙂
Nice boat, and I’m jealous. I’m on an island; get to enjoy the beach, but I don’t have a boat; guess I better count my blessing, eh. 🙂
Nice post!
For real? An island? I have to admit, that doesn’t sound too shabby, Deb!
That is very kind of you to say, thank you!
🙂
Who in their right mind would call a boat Beula Ogeman? Imagine the tormenting at Boat School
Hahaha…
and young boats can be very cruel, too!
🙂
Yes they probably kicked him in the rudder or made fun of his small anchor
Hahaha…
hopefully he’s owned by a therapist so he can work through a few of those issues…
🙂
T-pain? Your mind wanders in very interesting ways 🙂 As always, great picture!
Hahaha… if only it would wander back every now and then!
Thank you very much, Diva!
🙂
I love the vintage feel of this photo. Super cool.
It’s very nice to hear that, Y.A.W…
thank you!
🙂
“beula” wooof. I am thinking that was not a pretty woman.
I’m guessing she was a strong swimmer, at least.
🙂
At first I thought that was the whole boat: It’s taller than it is long!
All the blues and white in this pic are quite soothing.
For some reason I really hadn’t noticed that! Interesting!
Thank you very much for your kind comment (as always), thank you! 🙂
Great composition. I had to check TTV term for a clear definition. Now we have Beula Ogemaw boat right after Knute Rockne gate. So this is a code, right ? The boat was docked (rock-en) and gate is a passage way to a destination (We Go blue….) …. I need more clues, eagerly awaiting next post.
Thank you very much! Sorry about that… I should have posted a bit more info on the process I was attempting here (which is quite a bit of fun).
Hahaha… now I feel like it should have been. Or maybe it was on an subconscious level (which would means I could probably use a few more clues, too, I guess)!
Thank you again, sir! 🙂
Lovely boat!! So much personality! Nice processing (or is that the way the photo was taken??)
Thank you, sir! Glad to hear you liked this one!
I can’t take too much credit for processing here. While I did some minor editing in Photoshop, the majority of the ‘effects’ in this one come from how the photo was taken (using my digital SLR to take a photo of a view as seen through the viewfinder of an old Twin Lens Reflex camera). It’s taking me a while to get used to the whole set-up, but it is a lot of fun. 🙂
Great picture. I think this is one of my favorites, especially after the “I’m on a boat” reference.
Thank you very much! Hahaha…. yeah, I tried inviting Lonely Island and T-Pain along, but I guess they had already made plans… on a… slightly… more luxurious… boat. 🙂
love those saturated blues
This was a very colorful place, N.M… I suspect you would have liked it, too…
🙂
Do you think it’s wise to be tied up next to “Storming”? Why am I singing Gilligan’s Island in my head?????
D-oh! Guess I must have missed the forecast!
I’ve never heard that theme (or seen the show), but something tells me the professor penned a catchy tune just for that purpose… (there was a professor, right?)!
🙂
Oh hell yes there was a professor …and
Gilligan
The Skipper too,
The millionaire
and his wife,
The movie star
The professor (which you already knew)
and Mary Ann,
Why this island sounds ripe for comedy!
🙂
Yeah, if you could only get off it 😦
A quick Google has made me wonder if I would want too!
🙂
it looks like a very large toy boat, then i realised that’s just the bow. lovely colours!
It does look that way, doesn’t it?!
I am very impressed by your knowledge-o-nautical terms… I always have to look up the name of certain parts of a ship!
Thank you, C.O.R.!
🙂
Very nice shot! The boat has an interesting name too! Trying to imagine your song in my head.
Thank you very much, sir! That is an interesting name, isn’t it? It does not exactly roll off the tongue!
Hahaha… I think I really started something with this one!
🙂
i love the colors. i love water and boats. except water scares me to death so, figure that one out.
um, i just never understood the naming of the boats.
i am more interested in the story behind the names than i am the actual boat.
Thank you so much, B.D.!
I’m not a big fan of deep water either… I think it goes back to an early swimming pool ‘incident’… and the fact I sink much better than I float!
I have to admit I saw some pretty… interesting… names!
🙂
AWWW! That such a cute little boat- love it. About those lyrics… someone sure wrecked their brains on it hahahahaa … I am on a boat… I am on a boat. Tomorrow morning it will be the first thing that comes to my mind!
It was just asking to have it’s picture taken – how could I refuse?
Hahaha… you said it, Juana!
🙂
can we get some audio of you singing the song??! It would add SO much!! 🙂
Love the image, the colors are so vibrant and you’ve managed to absolutely get a retro feel with your post work. Another gold star for you!
Hahaha… me + singing? *sudder* Let’s just say I’m not the next American Idol!
Thank you very much, sir! I can’t take too much credit for most of the effects this time, though… most of that was picked up in camera. Still, a lot of fun, though. And very kind of you to say as well! 🙂
nice frame …

compare
Now THAT is a nice TTV piece…
thank you very much for sharing it, sir!
🙂
