Red Tailed Hawk

I know very little about birds, but Annabelle tells me this guy was/is a Red Tailed Hawk. Anyway, I should have used a faster ISO here, but considering how shaky I am and my luck with animals in general, I guess this will have do.

Dennis Reynolds: “I can absolutely keep a humming bird as a pet, bro. It’s no different than having a parrot or a parakeet… it’s a bird, bro!”

Charlie Kelly: “You really… you really can’t. And I’m not saying I agree with it, it’ s just that bird law, in this country,  it’s not governed by reason.”

Thanksgiving (faux T.T.V.)

If this image seems  odd, you’ve probably never been in my kitchen. Honestly, if it doesn’t  fall out of a can and into a microwave there is bound to be a small to medium sized inferno.

Anyway, I’ll be sure to ‘cook up’ something calmer for the big Monday show. Until then, have a wonderful holiday weekend everyone!

Alcott (in progress)

Here’s more of my ‘author series’ (Poe here – Twain to follow). I’ve been turning these drawings into 3-D / Mixed Media pieces… but… it’ll probably be a while before I post images of a finished product.

Louisa May Alcott Drawing: “I could write a whole novel in less time. Even without  hands. Seriously, dude. I’m a drawing.”

Me: “Geez Ms. A… that’s kinda harsh…”

Louisa May Alcott Drawing: “My bad. Only trying to amp things up a bit.  Red Bull?”

Piping Putti

Another… ‘unusual’  conversation heard only here:

Me: “Hey, Annabelle… does this look like a putti to you?”

Annabelle: *manages only a blank stare that means ‘not so much’.*

Me: ” It would probably help if he had wings… but…”

Annabelle: *gifts a putty pity pat before returning to her writing*

So… basically what we’ve got here is a short dude rocking a horn.

And apparently the singular of putti is putto.

Whatev.

The title stays.

Fujiyama

Here’s more proof I’d love to visit Japan.

Hopefully it’s not also proof I need a better translation of ‘fujiyama’.

This could get embarrassing.

Speaking of mountains… (for all you  illustrators using digital tablets) would you mind sharing what you use and any other preferences/tips/etc? I’ve never tried one… sounds… nice?

Slinky No. 2

Slinkys are funny things… once you start photographing them, it’s surprisingly difficult to stop! Never fear, though… I’ll do my best to  come up with something different for the big Monday show. BUT…

until then…

GO SLINKY, GO (and have a great weekend, everyone)!

Slinky No. 1

*Que the Jaws sound guys*

So…

*dun dun*

I’m back.

Ish.

Monday and Thursday-like (when possible), anyway. In all honesty my interwebing was getting a bit out-o-hand. But with such nice comments I couldn’t stay away for much longer. Plus I missed everyone. Cause I’m all cheesy like that. Well… as cheesy as a guy with a fin can get, anyway.

*dun dun dun*

P.S. – I  intended to comment on everything I missed – but I’ve discovered (sadly) I’m just too far behind. Worse yet,  I fear I’ll  have to pick one or two posts of everyone’s to leave comments on (on one or two days a week). I’m very, very sorry about  cutting back so far – but I have to  find a balance; I’ve met so many wonderful people here, and I’m not willing to pull the plug! I hope you all understand (I desperately wish I wasn’t so slow)!
