Mandatory Dirty Harry post (something calmer Monday). Now, go ahead… have a great day.
Harry Callahan: ” I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: do I feel lucky? Well, do ya… punk?”
– Clint Eastwood – Dirty Harry
About this image: digital media β vector art portrait created with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop overlayed on modifiedΒ ‘ Dirty Harry ‘ film still
nice image !
Many thanks, sir!
π
Well now, dear Robert, you know I like this, don’t you?
But do we really have to have a calmer thingy next Monday? Bring on the relatives of the sutured pears, the bondage cherries! π
I’m so happy to hear that, S.E… thank you! This was another one of those I was a bit nervous about posting… but as you can see I talked myself into it.
Hahaha… I only had the one cherry image… I do have one or two more pears, though. Although now that I look at them I wish I’d have shot them a bit differently.
π
Bananas? π
Ha!
Not yet, S.E! I’ve never been quite as big a fan of them, I guess.
π
Oranges,Β kumquats, lychees,Β leeches, worms, caterpillars, moths. Whatever you like, I just want more of your ‘darker’ stuff. π
Hmmm…
or maybe a combination of a few of those things?
(now you’ve got me thinking, S.E.)
*rubbing chin in deep thought*
π
Jolly good, old chap!
Hahaha… I wonder what my landlord would think if he saw me digging up the lawn in search of worms?
π
Normally I’d say something about this picture, but for some reason I’m feeling a little intimidated today.
Oh no!
If it makes you feel any better Harry has assured me all my visitors are safe.
π
Oh no! **hands up** Please, don’t shoot me! @0@
No worries, Cristina…
Harry has assured me he’ll only go after the bad guys!
π
You sure do come up with some very cool concepts SIG, and carry them off so perfectly..
Sometimes I think I have too many concepts (I should probably try to focus a bit)… they might carry me off!
Seriously, though, thank you very, very much, FS!
π
I used to work for Clint Eastwood, at his Mission Ranch in Carmel, CA. He was always pullin’ this s**t on me, too.
“How many shots you got left in that bottle? Tell ya the truth, I kinda lost track myself. But, being that is a 4.4 Litre Champagne Magnum – the largest bottle of champagne in the world – and one more shot would blow your head drunk off your a$$ – you gotta ask yourself one question – do you feel lucky, Spectra? Well, do ya, punk?”
Wow! That sounds so cool, Spectra! I had no idea! You have the most interesting stories – ridiculous! You need to write a book!
Hahaha… the Ranch does seem to be spinning, a bit…
π
My wife will really enjoy this one – she is a Eastwood fan – but as an art teacher she will want to know about the technique/media involved.
You really shouldn’t go bragging about having a couple of pears, your artistic skills are intimidating as it is. π
Thank you so much, sir!
This one (the portrait, anyway) was Adobe Illustrator’s shape tools (pen, brush, etc.), although I went back in later and added the blue tint in Photoshop.
Hahaha… that is very kind of you to say, sir, but it’s all just smoke and mirrors over here, really…
π
My wife was impressed by the piece. Her own range of art training and portrait work does not extend to the computer. So we both say, “Well done !” .
I’m so happy to hear she liked this post, sir! I have been very impressed by her work, too (from what I’ve seen of it in a few of your pieces). Does she have a blog or a website where she shoes of more of her pieces? I’d love to see them! And thanks so much to the both of you! You are so kind!
π
Great quote and pic! π
That is very kind of you, Nancy!
Thank you so much!
π
speak softly and carry a BIG GUN
Hahaha…
maybe I should throw some Teddy glasses on Clint?
π
SIG, this creation … well… it made my day. π
And that comment made mine, too!
Thank you very much, Ms. D!
π
Ah yes, good ole Clint Eastwood, and probably his most famous line ever! And excellent choice, Sig and very excellent work, my friend!
Hugs, xx
This is one of those I just ‘had to do’…
still might have to do a charcoal drawing of Clint (he has such an incredibly expressive face, doesn’t he)?
Thank you so much, Deb!
π
I’d like to see that charcoal drawing SIG. Can I hold you to that ‘promise’?
I’ll put it on my list if you’d like, N.M…
it might be a while, though (that ‘list’ is more like a small book and it’s not getting much smaller considering how long my projects seem to be taking lately )!
π
Young Clint? Older? Gruff? More of a ‘publicity shot’? Which do you think you’d choose for that drawing, N.M.?!
π
Young Clint. Such a heartbreaker. Definitely, young.
Red.
One vote for young Clint…
check!
Thank you, Red!
π
Yes he does, and those make the best charcoal drawings!….Go for it, Sig!
Hugs, xx
I might just have to give that one a try, Deb!
So many projects! Where to begin (or continue), right!?
π
Awesome!
Thank you very much, Dishy!
π
good clear minimal graphic structure!
Thank you so much, F.T.!
π
Great photo work!!! I love Clint Eastwood as “Dirty Harry.” I loved his super bowl ad too π
Thank you, Mary!
Me, too! To both!
I was kind of surprised about the big to-do over that ad… I didn’t really see it in a political light at all… I guess you can find that in anything if you look hard enough, though.
π
Young Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry. π I liked that serie a lot.
Absolutely! They were some pretty powerful films, weren’t they?!
π
Harry had unique and special charm π
So true!
Such a classic character!
π
Ha, I just did an Eastwood theme. It’s spreading, lock the doors.
Hahaha…
turn out the lights and call the cops!
π
That’s awesome! (and a great line) I love Clint Eastwood. My mom always watched westerns and I recall watching a lot of John Wayne and then Clint. I liked it later when he was the cop in Tightrope.

I’d say he’s definitely an Icon, Sandi!
I’m so happy to hear you liked this one!
Thank you very much!
π
Great work, can’t go wrong with Clint.
Agreed, B.W.!
It would be hard to mess that up!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
π
Its was a great movie my friend π
I thought so, too, Jake!
Definitely worth watching!
π
No one ever sketches the punk π¦
Hahaha…
I’m sure he gets a nice mug-shot, though…
π
Yikes it’s the cops with a big gun!!! Run away!!! Run away!!!
Hahaha… don’t worry, Cedric…
you seem to be a pretty decent fellow… I don’t think you have any cause for concern!
π
LOVE it. This makes me want to kick down a door and call someone a punk. On second thought, I’m headed to a toddler playgroup. Things could get weird.
HA!
It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.
Seriously. Because that is absolutely HILARIOUS, Ms. N!
π
Nice work Inky! I love the recent take off of Dirty Harry’s famous quote with Timothy Olyphant’s rendition in Justified…. Classic stuff and nicely shared by your work!
Many thanks, Mr. B!
Truthfully I haven’t seen Justified yet (my wife and I are sans cable these days)… sounds really interesting, though… I’ll make a mental note to check it out if I get a chance!
π
The way you’ve drawn Clint and his gun, and with the shadow and image behind it, and the light, this image has a great deal of depth.
I probably shouldn’t take credit for all of that… I think a lot of that depth comes from the angle the reference photo I used to draw Clint was taken at… still, thank you very much for such a kind comment, sir! I’m fairly pleased with how this one turned out… for the moment, anyway!
π
Truly a nice one my freind. Ol Clint is one of my favorite action stars.
He’s a legend, isn’t he, JB!?
Thank you so much, my friend!
π
Great timing with this fabulous Clint art work. It hurt me to hear Karl Rove, of all people, put the Clint down, I mean that these two names should even be in the same sentence . . .
In all honesty I really didn’t plan that. For the most part I don’t try to get political, and I really didn’t find Clint’s ad to be, either. Just trying to make a silly little piece about an icon of the American screen, Ms. K… so I’m very happy to hear you liked it!
π
Nice work. Yep, made my day, too! Loved that movie.
Thank you so much! That is very nice to hear!
Me, too! It had been a while since I’d seen it, so I went back and watched it again prior to making this… still more than holds up, I think!
π
Excellent art work Bob – one of my favourite films too π
ps – Have you joined the Magnum photo agency? π
Hahaha…
I think I might have been kicked out of it…
I get a bit reckless with a camera, you know!
π
Thank you very much, Martin!
It’s a classic, isn’t it?!
π
Great image. Dirty Harry is also popular in Japan. He is famous all over the world.
Interesting! That’s very cool! I guess I’m not too surprised to hear that, though… he’s such a classic character, isn’t he?!
π
What’s NOT to love about Clint??? Nice work, SIG! π
My thoughts exactly, M.P!
Thank you very, very much!
π
How did I miss this offering? π¦
Well I am here now and it’s a most
excellent piece of work SIG π π
Do You feel Lucky Punk? I like it…
Androgoth
Happens to me all the time, A.G… no worries!
Thank you very much, sir! It’s great to hear you liked this one!
π
You just went ahead…and made my day.
I feel like that was very lucky!
π
clint a very dodgey name to type if your me lol but i love watching him in any which way but loose best a very sexy man love this post xxjen
Typing anything can be dodgey for me… even with spell-check I’m going to have problems!
It’s very nice to hear you liked this one, J.G!
Thank you very much!
π
So cool! The little mole on his face is my favourite part. I will patiently await the day that you make a time-lapse video of yourself doing one of these.
Thanks much, U.M!
I nearly forgot it… I knew something was missing, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at first!
Hahaha… I think you’d get motion sickness from all my ‘undo’ commands!
π
like it…
Many thanks, Nigel!
π
Inspector Harry Callahan! Very cool, loved that film. I reckon Charles Bronson ( Death Wish ) would sit quite nicely next to this one. π
Definitely a classic, isn’t it, C.O.R.!
Hey – that’s a very interesting idea! *scratching head* Yes, yes I like it!
