I planned on using the same pepper here as in my previous post but the paint(s) didn’t get along very well. Paint these days. No table manners.

    I love it, Sig! This one is just as lovely as the white one and both will look great in my house. I just teasing ya, but if you want to rid of them I better hear about it first.

    • Hahaha… thank you so much, Deb!
      This one definitely didn’t last as long as the previous one… (the paint started cracking only a few hours after it had dried). It was definitely an interesting experiment!

  7. It’s we have a Good Pepper / Bad Pepper situation here. The good pepper sits on your shoulder and tells you to do the right thing. The bad pepper is on your other shoulder and tells you things to get you in trouble. I like the bad pepper. 🙂

  10. Gloss on gloss is tough without primer in the middle…or sanding. I can see where sanding would have been out. This one has a very warm feel to it. I like it.

      It was actually kind of interesting looking in it’s own bubbled/cracked/peeled right. If I wouldn’t have been so bummed out right away I probably would have photographed that one, too!

      • Maybe let it sit for a day or so and look at it again…kind of Frankenstein meets pepper sort of thing. Let science take over…may be interesting, maybe not appetizing, but interesting!

  14. I am SO glad you posted the painted veggies! This pepper looks amazing SIG. Another example of your genius. And how do you come up with these creative, unique and fantastic ideas for your subjects? When I grow up I want to know an aperture from an apple…. or pepper.
    Great lighting on this, just everything is fab.

      Yeah… I figured after I went ahead and wasted all that food I should at least post the results. I felt a bit like the kid making the mashed potato castle and the gravy moat (only those things still taste pretty good).
      The ideas question is a tough one! Anywhere and everywhere, I guess. I’m sorry – horrible answer, I know, but it’s really the truth. I keep notebooks. Anyway, this one stemmed from an idea I’ve had for some time about removing all the local color from an objects… not sure when I settled on food. Guess it’s just relatively available and somewhat inexpensive. And it’s generally willing to pose.

      Hahaha… it’s funny – I don’t get that question as often as other people seem to. I suspect folks are a bit scared of how a dude who spray-paints random food stuffs might respond to that!

      I can sometimes PAINT food. Producing something EDIBLE (that looks good, tastes good and is good for you)… well… that’s a feat left up to pro’s like you, Dishy!
