Hahaha… I guess ‘tried’ would probably be the operative word. I can usually recognize a situation where I know I won’t be able to hand-hold a shot long before I get to it (and even if I think I can I’ll still almost always use a tripod if I have one with me)… this was one of those ‘lower-light’ (for me, anyway) situations that I just didn’t see coming.
