The circles were meant to represent electron orbitals. And Tungsten’s atomic number is 74. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine. This is the sort of thing that happens when I stare at my computer for too long.
Steve Zissou: “Ned, how many fingers am I holding up?”
Ned Plimpton: “I don’t know. That’s not my job. Too many to tell. How many finger…”
Steve Zissou: “He’s gonna be just fine.”

Intriguing, SIG. Is the cord made of Tungsten perhaps. Or, maybe there are 74 curls in the cord. Fascinating. Or, there they have no relationship whatsoever. I’m sure there is a term for this but I can’t put my finger on it. You have me guessing. Well done!
Now you have me very curious about how many curls there are in the cord, B.F! I’m very tempted to start counting! Except I’d probably wind up with a bunch of marks on my computer monitor and inaccurate results! Still… so very tempting!
One… two… three…
๐
Groovy baby…
Why, thank you, R.N.P!
๐
I really like it, Robert. It would be great as a record cover. Um, yes, a record cover: nice big square album cover. The band is called ‘Tungsten’ and the album ’74’. ๐
And they like the cover you designed do much that they ask to to be art director on their next video clip. There are only three members and they all wear charcoal grey suits, white shirts, no ties, and have long straggly hair. One woman two men. The rest is up to you!:)
I particularly like the sound of this as… well… let’s just say I’m not very musically inclined! But I’ve always wanted to be a rock-star, so I’d be very happy with the cameo!
Lalala mememe meeeee!
Just checking. Yup. Still sounds like cats fighting.
๐
Ha ha!
๐
Thanks so much, S.E!
Wow! I sure like the sound of that! The bigger the album cover the better, I say! More room for pictures!!!
๐
Sometimes, to make an omelet, you have to break a few bulbs. Or something.
Hahaha…
And after all these years I’m still manage to drop bits of
shellglass in my omelets!๐
Tungsten just sounds cool. As for the photo, well that’s a no brainer. Sheer awesome!
Thank you so much, Dishy!
This was one of those things that was just kind of… kind of… yeah.
But I figured… well… I’m not really sure what my thinking was here! Yeah.
๐
For some reason I feel the need to find an old Edison stye light bulb.
Great image, SIG!
OH! ME TOO! Wouldn’t that be fun?!?! I’m not really sure why… but it sure seems like it would be!
๐
What happens if you put your tongue on tungsten?
Your tongue will shrink so don’t try
that with anything else Bearman ๐ฆ lol
Androgoth
HA!
๐
You caught me just as I was leaving for the morning ๐ It is almost 2am here and I am out at 7am so I had better grab some Zzzzzzz’s ๐
Have fun SIG ๐
Androgoth
Oh, man! I hear you, Andro! Under 5 hours of sleep sounds pretty brutal – and a bit familiar (although it’s not for lack of effort on my end)!
I hope you were able to catch those Z’s!
๐
Arrraghhh ahgg arrrhggh ahh ahh!
*translation* Don’t make the same mistake I did, Bearman.
๐
I wish my staring at my computer for too long was half as productive. At least 37.
HA! I’ll spot you the additional ‘ten’ for your kindness, Ms. G!
๐
As soon as I saw this I was thinking that it’s what I see when I look at my computer too long…how ironic. ๐
Hahaha… maybe we have the same monitor, Ms. B?!
๐
Interesting. I was good at science when I was a child. So I used to watch things like this. ๐
Thank you, sir!
I was okay at science when I was younger… well, the life-sciences / Biology, etc. I had a more difficult time with Chemistry and sciences that required more involved math.
๐
It’s a part of a bulb? ๐
Indeed, Ms. B! Good eye!
๐
Interesting shot. Your mind works in mysterious ways.
I was also admiring your choice of WordPress tags. I usually go for “humor” – rather cliche, so I’m always looking to expand my circle of readers. Do you find a lot of readers seeking to share your interest in the “filament” category?
Hahaha… ‘mysterious’ is a very kind way of putting it, Peg… I thank you for that!
Well… you know… with stats like mine. It’s all an experiment, really. SCIENCE!
๐
I like SE’s album cover idea ๐ Inksten, I like this a lot!!! You’re “gonna be just fine.”
Hahaha… thank you, Mary!
Just a mental flesh wound, then?!
๐
I also like Syncopated Eyeball’s album cover idea. Go figure that tungsten was just the right thing for light bulbs, huh? I like the word tungsten but I also like its other name, wolfram. I’m not sure how you get two such different terms for the same thing, but whatever.
Kind of like ‘Lead’ and ‘Plum Bum’. I see where they were coming from, I guess.
Still, it’s a bit like… WHUUUUUUUT?!
๐
No just apply electricity & Whammo!!! Let there be light.
Hahaha… I hope that ‘Whammo’ wasn’t my hair arcing, Tony!
๐
I think that’s what it was
A nice filament of your imagination.
Hahaha… an ‘illuminating’ turn-of-phrase, sir!
๐
Mixing artistic and scientific. Apparently, I have not stared at my computer long enough…
Hahaha… then you are still safe, Patti!
Don’t do it!
Don’t do it!
๐
Isn’t that like a handset cord off an old phone? You trying to fool me again?????
Operator?
*bang bang bang*
Hello, operator? Are you there, operator?!
๐
Hmm, that’s what I thought !!!
It’s difficult do pull a fast one on the Loon.
๐
I was never good at any of the sciences. I spent all my time thinkin’ but it wasn’t about what the teachers were teachin’.
Can you make jewelry out of Tungsten?
Great pic Robert.
I don’t know, Bo… I suspect you’re selling yourself far too short again!
I was okay at Biology / Life Sciences… but the stuff that required heavy math was a bit brutal. And by a bit, I mean a LOT.
Hmm… a very good question! I wish I had the answer for you! All I know is that if it can be done, you would be the guy who could do it!
๐
BOING! BOING! BOING!
Your aura is NOT Gray . . . it’s Orange ~ Creative, inspiring, compassionate, powerful
Aw, thanks, Nancy!
I don’t know what the color is for kindness, but that’s you! All the way!
๐
Well executed. ๐ Dr. Tungsten would be impressed with this creative composition.
I thank you, sir! This was one of those pieces I had about a million different versions of at one point…
I really have to work at my graphic design (I’m afraid it often shows up with pieces like this feeling a bit labored), but I’m working on it!
๐
Thats a cool approach Bob – I love the simplicity ๐ No Tungsten, No Electric Light… Very important part of our lives!
Thank you, Martin!
This is one of those I kept trying a million different things with…
which I’m afraid was starting to affect my judgement a bit…
๐
Excellent work Bob your Tungsten is great through your image . ๐
I thank you, sir! Very much!
I keep going back and forth on this one…
๐
I like this one SIG
but I was being careful
as I expected a few
arrows to whizz past
as I was viewing it ๐
Like the Strongbow ads…
Androgoth
HA!
Hilarious, A.G!
Good call!
Duck and cover! Duck and cover!
๐
Yes I was on hands and knees
I hope nobody was watching ๐ lmao
Have a brill rest of evening and a
ghoulishly exciting Wednesday too ๐
Androgoth
I’m always hoping nobody’s watching!
*tap tap tap* Is this thing on?
I hope your week is going well, Andro… Friday is a little bit closer now… which always seems nice!
๐
Mind blowing Robert, truly mind blowing.
Man, that’s very kind of you to say my friend!
Thanks so much, JB!
๐
Looks like the test pilot for a new TV show, but back in the day. SiG, I can even hear the soundtrack! Very stylish!
Hahaha… good call, Ms. K!
I sure hope it get’s picked up! Fingers crossed!
๐
Weird one Sir, but excellent nevertheless.
Hahaha…
contrary to popular belief weird is not my middle name… but that probably have been seriously considered.
๐
Oh, I really love this! It is so neat and eye-catchy. Simple and successful!
That is wonderful to hear, Cristina…
especially because I wanted to keep things simple, but I was hoping I didn’t go too far in that direction!
Thank you! Very much!
๐
Zzztt Zzzzztt (That’s my electrical noise…)
Duck and cover! Duck and cover!
๐
