New Years…

new_years_2013

Sorry, all I had was Ginger Ale. And yes, I spilled it on myself. And my camera. And my tripod. And etc, etc. *hic* Anyway, wishing everyone the very best in 2013!

Harry Burns (of ‘Auld Lang Syne’): “What does this song mean? My whole life I don’t know what this song means. I mean, should old aquatints be forgot… does that mean that we should forget old acquaintances or does it mean that if we happen to forget them we should remember them which is not possible because we already forgot ’em?”

Sally Albright: “Well, maybe it just means that we should remember that we forgot them or something. Anyway, it’s about old friends.”

    • I was trying to keep this one ‘simple’, although you sure couldn’t tell at the time (as I was trying a few different things and made a ridiculous mess trying to get everything set-up)!
Thank you very, very much, S.E! I hope you have the very happiest of new years as well!!!
      🙂

  1. cheers – and thanks for the ginger ale. one of my faves!

whatever does that old song mean? in any case, it may mean that if you are not technical, then you should not mess with your blog. i didn’t follow that advice, and due to some administrative changes in my corner of blogville, my crow avatar has become rather iffy. sometimes it appears, and sometimes it doesn’t but it really is me – with many thanks for your support during this last year – and with wishes for a very happy 2013 full of unexpected blessings. cheers and auld lang syne! blog on 🙂

    • You know… I hadn’t tried it in years… but it’s not that bad! Could use some caffeine, though. And other ‘Coke-like’ flavor(s).
Technology, right?! It’s probably a good thing I don’t know enough to make many changes or I’m sure the same would happen to me! Anyway, I hope everything gets all ironed-out for you… I know how frustrating these things can be!
And thank you, P&K! For your great kindness this past year as well! Wishing you the very best in 2013!
      🙂

  2. In my world, it’s actually good luck to spill ginger ale on yourself. Pink bubbly, not so much (as you can tell). 🙂 Unfortunately, I Wikipedia’d the lyrics and now I only want a nap, darn those baffling Celtic fellows. A deeply happy 2013, SIG, to you and yours and to all who are looking in.

Ginger Ale sounds pretty nifty to me but I would
much prefer something deliciously RED 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. We watch this movie annually! I did post about the scene where she is turning “40”…someday!

Anyway, I always spill on my shirt. Right on my boobs so that anyone who looks at me, looks at my shirt. So, lieu of a toast, tonight’s (1st) spillage I will dedicate to you! Here here!

    Cheers!

    • Pretty good, isn’t it? I haven’t seen it in a while… I should probably see what I can do about that!
Hahaha… it’s funny… the harder I try not to spill… the worse it gets! It’s probably a good thing I don’t do more of this sort of thing… my camera would NOT be very happy with me!
And thank you! Very, very much! Wishing you and yours all the best in 2013!
      🙂

    • Certainly gets a lot of air-time, doesn’t it? Well… on new years, anyway.
Also, does anyone even say air-time anymore? I swear sometimes I sound older than that song!
Thank you so much, Ms. C! A very, very happy new year to you and yours as well!
      🙂

  5. Ohhhhh it’s so beautiful Bob. I’d spill ginger ale all over everything during a project as well. Ask my copy oh PS and desktop keyboard.
Have a great New Year. I’m going to use your image as my desktop for tonight and tomorrow 🙂

    • Well, it’s good to know I’m in good company! Because that stuff made a MESS! Parts of the kitchen floor are STILL suspect!
Thank you so very much, Ms. B! I hope you have a fantastic new year as well!
      🙂

  6. have a wickedly enjoyable evening SIG
and a Thursday of naughty delights 🙂 🙂

  7. Beautiful shot of glass.
The song is actually about a photographer trying to decide about use of processes – ” Should old quaint tints be forgot.” All the best. 🙂

    • Absolutely! I had plenty of grenadine at one point… but most of it now seems stuck to the bottom of the bottle (and whatever the bottle sits on). Which is… yeah. I should probably do something about that.
      🙂

  8. Gosh, SIG, I LOVE this image and I love that scene and that movie! I could hear their actual voices when reading it. Happy New Year to you and Annabelle!

  9. You aren’t alone: Non alcoholic cola-light for New Year for me too (strong pain meds for my foot injury means zero booze). Still, you CAN still have plenty of fun and the bonus is: you never get a hangover.
