Ladies and gentlemen, this is the flight-deck… it appears that, uh… my scheduled painting will be delayed for a few weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience, and for the following, which, (give or take eleven and a completely different aircraft), I just couldn’t resist.
‘… Like a G6, like a G6
Now now now now now now
Β I’m feelin’ so fly like a G6…’
– Far East Movement – Like a G6
About this image: digital photograph taken and modified with smart phone (minimally edited in Photoshop)
does this mean someone is getting a getaway? π
Sadly it just means I’m to slow to make my scheduled departure time!
π
It’s a cool shot Your skill to use smart phone is great π Have a wonderful day
You are always incredibly kind, sir! Thank you very, very much!
π
I wanna fly π Super insta!
Me, too! It would help if I wasn’t so s-l-o-w!
Thank you very much, sir!
π
g6. love that. hehe
I was very tempted to ‘Photoshop’ G6 onto the signage…
π
You might experience a little turbulence.
Hahaha…
*ding*
‘Ladies and gentlemen, the captain has turned on the fasten seat-belts sign…’
π
Love this time-tripping all the way back to Minneapolis-St Paul, wonderful rendering SiG! Enjoy your painting time!
I don’t know how I managed to miss this comment earlier, Patti –
thank you so much for your great kindness, as always!
π
They just keep you waiting in that fancy atrium waiting hall place…..
Very frustrating.
Hahaha… been to / waited there, myself!
π
You win the obscure quote competition, hands down, SIG! If there were, you know, such a thing.
Cool shot – was this sunrise or sunset? Amazing what you can do with a cell phone. I can barely make phone calls.
Hahaha… VICTORY IS MINE!
Aw, thanks, Peg! This was a sunset in Minneapolis – St. Paul…
π
Who knew Minn-St. Paul got sunshine?
Hahaha… I didn’t have to Photoshop it in or anything!
π
It don’t matter, I like everything you post! But I still look forward to you painting. π
Thanks, Deb! Me, too – I sure hope I mange to actually finish it some day!
π
Robert, looks like an old photograph. I like the light…would that be a sunrise?I can’t say I’ve heard of that movie. That’s a new one to me.
That is wonderful to hear, B.F. (because I really like retro-ish stuff)… thank you!
Pretty close – it was a sunset (pretty tough to distinguish between the two in photographs – had I not been the one who took this I would have guessed sunrise, too – think maybe it’s something with the color balance).
π
“Surely you can’t be serious?”
“I am serious. And don’t call me Shirley.” π
Looking forward to seeing your painting!
HA!
Bonus points for the Leslie Nielsen impression, Ms. C!
And thank you – I just hope I haven’t built it up too much now!
π
This almost looks like a vintage shot. Love.
Many thanks, Madame!
I think the reason I like vintage stuff so much is that it reminds me of a long time ago.
When I was only kinda ancient.
π
for some reason it’s very retro looking ~ i dig it
I do like a bit of ‘retro-ish-ness’! Thank you very much E.F!
π
Compleeeeeeeetely in love with this. I was going to say that it looks like a much-better-than Instagram photo, but then I saw it IS an Instagram photo. You’re good.
Nah. Just lucky sometimes. But I’ll sure take that, U.M, thank you!
π
It looks very much like an aged 70’s snapshot.
Thanks, Binky! I do enjoy playing around with ‘retro-ish’ stuff.
π
Am I missing something? I only see one wing…Cool technique you used.
The other one is just very, very small.
Poor airplane always goes around in circles. π
Thank you very much, Patti!
π
Well done . Effectively created that old time colour & saturation. Takes one back to when , if your plane was hijacked, the worse thing that happened is you went to Cuba. If you lived in Canada, you could go to Cuba anyway, so the hijackers were not interested. π
Hahaha… I was just going to ask if you could bring me back some cigars. Or, I would if I smoked.
π
Waited so long you’ve gone back in time…
Well done.
Hahaha… If I would have known it would happen I’d have played the lottery!
Thank you so much, Karen!
π
Open the luggage compartment doors Hal
I’m sorry Dave, I can’t do that…
Ha!
*oh oh ah ah*
(in my best opening scene chimp voice)
π
Awwww, you mean we have to wait longer? Have a good weekend π
Hahaha… I was just thinking the same thing, Mary… I’m so s-l-o-w!
I hope you have a good one as well!
π
This one is great Bob , Great work my friend π
How very kind of you to say, Jake! Thank you!
π
I sat next to this guy on an American flight and he had a little note book in which he was writing down all the numbers of the planes he could see. A plane spotter. Being the friggin loon I am, I asked him if he crossed them out when they crashed. Needless to say he never spoke to me agian throughout the flight. Oh well!!!
Hahaha… at least your question didn’t scare him into the over-head compartment or anything.
π
I hope that in the near future, everyone can travel to Mars with one of those aeroplanes. Heehee…I’m still in my dream…
It’s fun to think about things like that, isn’t it?! I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to take that flight or not!
π
I know that I tried to leave a comment from my tablet. I forgot what it was but be sure that it was awesome and just laugh anyway.
Hahaha… I’m sure it was! They always are, Bo!
π
Nice shot!! Love the colors. Even if I hate flying. π
Thanks very much, Mr. B!
It seems like airports are one huge photo-op – unfortunately I usually don’t spend too much time in them… and I don’t know how comfortable I’d be with my camera there these days.
π
Look at you pulling out the up to date music references.
Hahaha…
bizarre, isn’t it?!
π
Mmmm, escape! I have escape and get-away on the brain at the moment so thank you for feeding my current obssession, Robert. π
I’m feeling the same way, S.E…
I think the winter here is doing it to me… I’m ready for warmer weather (and places where it can be found seem very inviting right about now)!
π
π Judging by your pictures of late, I think you want to fly away in a glass of Champagne. π
I think I need some metaphorical bolt-cutters, myself.
Hahaha… that post analysis seems plausible to me, too, S.E…
π
I didn’t know that youe are an aircraft fan, I will have
to find some out for you and email you them, I would
add them to my new Space but unfortunately planes
are just a bit too modern for my new theme π lol
A wonderful photograph SIG I like it a lot π
I find airplanes very fascinating (although to tell you the truth I know very, very little about them). I specifically remember going to an airshow in high school which was a lot of fun (many vintage planes from WWII up through a fly-over by an SR71 blackbird and a vertical take-off demonstration of an AV-8 Harrier).
Also I’m working on a painting at the moment which is very closely to vintage aircraft… I’m very hopeful to have it up next week sometime – I think / hope you might like it…
π
Control Tower: “You’re a little to the left of the centre line”
Pilot: “Yes and my Co-Pilot is a little to the right” π
I assume the G6 they’re referring to is the Gulfstream 650.
Anyway – I like the old ‘Instamatic’ look to this shot – there must be lots of people with similarly fading images from holidays in the 1960’s. Great recreation.
Control Tower: “They’ll be here all week. Don’t forget to tip your flight attendant.”
I always thought so, too. Then after I read your 650 comment I saw (on ‘Wikipedia’, so… you know…) that, ‘he songwriter, Niles Hollowell-Dhar, has said “G6” was made up for hyperbolic and rhythmical reasons, and is not a G650 reference…’ I don’t know, though… I still like to think it’s related somehow…
π
Well, they would say that… I can already hear the lawsuit whistling down the runway from the Gulfstram organisation π
Hahaha… absolutely! The label might have to sell a few jets to pay that one off!
π
