I’d love to darken that big flower in the lower right (it’s really competing for attention), but apparently my computer (and thus my Photoshop access, etc.) has moved on to greener pastures. ‘Technology’. Face-palm.
*NOTE* Flower has now been burned-in… for a small thing it’s SO much better!

About this image: digital photograph taken and modified with smart phone (minimally edited in iPhoto)
Brings back a sense of Little House on the Prairie. Let’s all run in the field in our bare feet with our hair flying.
Yes! I was thinking exactly the same thing! 🙂 Braids in our hair of course.
I might have to grow mine out a bit first…
🙂
Hahaha… I guess I’m the one who keeps tripping on things / tumbling over…
🙂
aww no, your computer has gone bye bye? I don’t know what I’d do …!
You’ve done well with your phone though!
I’m still pretty bummed about it…
and still trying to decide what I should do about it all, too…
hmm…
😦
I can imagine! Well, I wouldn’t be able to manage without a computer, so I’d probably get a new one somehow. Over here you can get them pretty cheaply if you don’t mind a desktop computer.
I’m kind of weird in that I tend to prefer working on a desktop… maybe because so much of what I do is image related (it’s nice to have a lot of working space and screen area for that)… well, that and it makes me feel a bit like I’m working at NASA or something, I guess. 😉
Greener pastures are certainly welcomed SIG and
what a wonderful breath of fresh air your posting brings 🙂
Excellently offered as usual too 🙂 Wicked…
Hahaha… I guess I can’t blame my computer for wanting to finds some greener pastures…
I just wish it would be kind enough to come-back at some point…
🙂
Perfect place! spring it up!!!!
Thank you, sir! Bring on that warmer weather, right?!
🙂
What a beautiful scene I like three small houses which are cool.
Thank you very much, sir! Those buildings are cool, aren’t they?! I think it would be nice to have an art studio in one of them!
🙂
I sympathise, Robert. My phone keeps kicking me out of the net. Fortunately a new one will be delivered to me in a few days.
It’s a lovely image here, it looks peaceful and I like the blurry flowers with the focused building.
Thanks, S.E… to tell you the truth I’m still trying to decide what I should do about the whole thing. I do have one or two things in my ‘buffer’… and I fortunately I can continue to use my phone (and my wife’s computer to post things), but I’ve become so used to working in a certain way and with certain tools… at this point I’m not quite sure I want to do otherwise… I guess I’ll keep thinking about it.
🙂
P.S. What does ‘face palm’ mean?
Here’s a definition from ‘Wikipedia’ that sums it up pretty well (better than I could describe, anyway!):
‘A facepalm (sometimes also face-palm or face palm) is the physical gesture of placing one’s hand flat across one’s face or lowering one’s face into one’s hand or hands. The gesture is found in many cultures as a display of frustration, disappointment, embarrassment, shock, surprise or just plain sarcasm.’
I like it the way it is … some times we all over edit, don’t we? (well, I do)
Thank you very much!
Hahaha… I ALWAYS over edit. Unfortunately that’s part of the fun! AND it drives me nuts when there’s something I’m just itching to ‘fix’ a little bit… my eye just won’t go anywhere else!!!
🙂
Beautiful! I could see why you might want to color that flower, but I think it’s pretty just the way it is, too. Very picturesque, Robert. It makes me want to live on a farm.
Thanks, B.F! Right?! It’s driving me NUTS, B.F! It’s such an easy fix, too! AARGH!
It’s a very, very cool place, Amy! I love the outbuildings… one would make a perfect studio, don’t you think?!
🙂
Wonderful scene 😀 AND did you know you’re a winner of THE BEST MOMENT AWARD? 😀 http://ks3nia.wordpress.com/2013/04/08/best-moment-award/
Thank you so much! 🙂 And I had NO IDEA?! Really?! WOW! Did I mention thank you so much?! Because you know… THANK YOU! SO MUCH!!!
🙂
Hal; “Dave you can not adjust that layer.”
This one has a dreamy nostalgic atmosphere. 🙂
Hahaha… AW, Come-on, Hal! I’m pulling out what’s left of my hair over here!
🙂
That flower looks just fine – leave it alone, you perfectionist!
Did you go to the Dunes recently?
It’s like an itchy nose when you’ve got two arms full-o-groceries, Peg! AARGH!!!
This is from our visit last summer… I started scrambling a bit for stuff I could actually get to / use when my computer got all snooty on my.
🙂
Ooooh, Snooty Computer Syndrome – that’s a tough one.
Nothing will choke you up like a little SCS… they should have made an ‘after-school special’ about it.
🙂
Very nice pastoral scene….I was looking for some cows 😀
MOOOOO!
There’s one right behind me, isn’t there?!
🙂
I first read this as “pectoral” scene. I was looking for some muscles.
‘We want to pump *claps* your pasture up’!
*in my best ‘Hans and Franz*
🙂
I got it, I got it. Even I remember that skit without prompting.
‘Oh, yeah! Yeah, you betcha!’
🙂
Oooh, a lovely shot! I guess I’m a sucker for the rather traditional. 🙂
Aw, thanks! This place has traditional written all over it… maybe that is why it appeals to me so much, too!
🙂
OMG, not the Photoshop. Once it sees greener pasturers you are screwed. You’ll be face palming your magenta face forever. Don’t tell me your computer has the blue screen of death too 😯
Yeah… unfortunately it’s the computer that’s the problem. It is 8 years old (and has an insane ammount of hours on it, but… come-on! Kinda knocks out my camera, my Photoshop, my Illustrator, my scanner… BLAH!!! 😦
The nightmare that is transferring everything across to new computer. All those codes and passwords. Hand me the whiskey 😦
Hand me the bottle when you are finished, Loon! I’m about ready to break it over that silly tower! 😦
Sorry to hear about your computer. Hopefully you can get a replacement soon. I’d be lost without my computer. And upgrading or changing over to a new one is always a major hassle. Good luck with that!
Thank you very much, sir! 🙂 Indeed! Thankfully I can borrow my wife’s laptop to do a few things… but I really miss being able to hook-up my DSLR… and my Adobe software, etc., etc… *sigh*
😦
The barn is stealing the show. Sorry to hear about your computer. Are you mourning, draped in black? Or have you already replaced it?
That’s funny, Patti, because I have a closet full of black t-shirts (so I am almost always draped in black)… so that is appropriate for the continued mourning, I guess…
🙂
It sounds like you are prepared for any situation!
Hahaha… unless it’s laundry day, I guess!
🙂
Lol
🙂
I don’t mind the flower. This is perfection. And although I’d like to show it to my dad, I’m pretty sure he’d rip my farm pictures off his wall and replace them with this, so . . .
Hahaha… I seriously, seriously doubt that, U.M…
but still, thank you so much for your kind words!
🙂
Oh Dear – sorry to hear that there are technological issues interfering with art 😦 Perhaps a pair of scissors gently applied and then a retake of the image 😉 Whatever, that looks like a wonderful meadow you’re sitting in to view the barn and I bet those flowers smell wonderful! Nice shot 🙂
Hahaha… yeah, that ridiculous box is running like a fine Swiss timepiece (that’s been hit with a hammer and then run over by a truck. And then had it’s battery removed… just for good measure). 😦
Absolutely! It really is a scenic place… staring at this photo helps take my mind off all the failing technology… for a bit, anyway! 😉
such a peaceful, relaxing mood…
sorry to hear about your computer. technology – wonderful it is, when it works.
my camera (Panasonic DMC-FZ40) suddenly stopped working the other day as well. fortunately it is still under warranty. unfortunately the place where I bought it was unable to help directly. fortunately they gave me the information with which I could contact the people who are supposed to be able to help. unfortunately I have not yet heard back from them. fortunately I have a phone number for following up…… etc. you get the picture, if you’ll pardon the pun.
hope the technology in both our corners of the blogosphere gets sorted out! 🙂
Right?! It’s AMAZING what technology can do… until… well, until it stops doing it!
I’m very, very sorry to hear about your camera! Having to endure that kind of run-around is almost as painful as the initial break-down! That being said, I’m happy to hear everything is still covered, of course! My computer’s about 8 years old now, so I don’t think I could fool anyone regarding a remaining warranty… hahaha… ‘Press one now to lie to us about the age of your product’…
🙂
I want to frolic and gambol in this delightful prairie paradise!
Sorry to hear about your computer – how tempted are you to actually call Michael Bolton? Even though he keeps begging us not to . . .
Why thank you, Ms. K!
Hahaha… ‘I’ll be honest with ya, I love his music. I do, I’m a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don’t know if it gets any better than when he sings when a man loves a woman…’
🙂
MB has some great vocal chops on that song! 🙂
I can’t handle ‘Row, row, row your boat’!
🙂
Nothing like a day in the country.
Tough to beat that fresh air!
🙂
Beautiful photo. I didn’t notice the blurred flower until you mentioned it. Gee. Thanks for the buzz kill, Robert. Oh, I jest. Your work is excellent.
Hmm… I think the thing that bothers me the most about it is how light it is… I feel like if it were a bit darker it might not have quite as much visual weight… maybe… hmm… I’d sure like to experiment with that at some point…
🙂
“What is hiding in the house…what is hiding in the house…” Your picture makes me have this impression in my mind 😀
I can see that, Cristina! Sadly I don’t know the answer – I was pretty far away from the house – but now that you mention it I’m thinking that might be a good thing!
🙂
Beautiful 🙂
Thank you very much Ms. B!
🙂
Now that is a site to behold! 🙂 …Beautiful Sig! 🙂
It’s quite the place – I’m sure you would like it if you ever find yourself in this neck-of-the-woods!
🙂
a peaceful reminder that spring will arrive here, too!
I was very happy to see spring this year, S.F – it seems to me like it was a very long winter!
🙂
Nah, until you mentioned it, I didn’t even notice!! Neat shot Inky!!
I’m kind of wishing I hadn’t posted this one until I can fix it…
my eye goes there EVERY time…
😦
