Roses are red, Dandelions are yellow… unless I convert them to black and white and boost the contrast… er… whatever.
Sam Shakusky: “That sounds like poetry. Poems don’t always have to rhyme, you know. They’re just supposed to be creative.”
– Jared Gilman – Moonrise Kingdom
About this image: digital photograph taken and modified with smart phone
Love the picture. Despise dandelions.
Thanks, Red! Hahaha… maybe I should follow this up with a 2,4-D photo!
🙂
Even dandelions can look good…just give them to Spilled Ink Guy, he can make anything good looking.
Aw, thank you! Very, very much!
🙂
I really like Dandelions, Robert. And my new phone! I can see likes and everything!
Just have to learn how to use it!
I’m very happy to hear both those things, S.E! That is wonderful news! I’ve been there – I’m sure it’s only a matter of time, though – I suspect you’ll have it all figured out post-haste!
🙂
When I was a kid, I used to like to blow on white fluffy dandelions, scattering the seeds everywhere. Now when I get dandelions in my garden, I feel like it’s payback.
Hahaha… dandelion karma…
🙂
WONDERFUL, CREATIVE and FUN!! Absolutely loved it at first sight…:)
How very kind of you to say, Juana! I thank you for that! Very, very much!
🙂
black & white blossom! Cool!
Thank you very much, sir! I’m so happy to hear you liked it!
🙂
That’s a pretty cool shot for sure! An ode to Dandelions!
Hahaha… I was kinda proud of myself for penning that one…
🙂
Love that! Poems don’t have to rhyme. They just have to move you. I’ve never seen Moonrise Kingdom, but now I think I’ll have to pick it up.
I think you might like it, Ms. C… I’ve seen it quite a few times already, yet (like all of Wes Anderson movies) I see something new every time!
🙂
There’s a dandelion theme in my reader today. A lot of folks are writing about them, but not many are accompanied by such skilled verse.
Interesting! There must be something in the air (maybe pollen?)!
Hahaha… well, I hate to brag, but… you know…
🙂
It’s difficult to believe that these are considered weeds….great photo. If you run out of subject matter, we have a whole backyard full of them 😀
Thank you, Mary!
Things still seem to be a bit slow here, but I have seen quite a few places where there are some very happy dandelions already!
🙂
The picture is great, and your words make it more great – or greater – or more gooder or something.
I’m weird in many ways, one of which is because I like dandelions, even black and white ones.
Hahaha… well, as you can see… I’m not sure which of those would fit ‘goodest’… but they all strike me as being very kind, Ms. D! I thank you!
🙂
You’re giving away all of your secrets!
Hahaha… D’oh!
🙂
Beautiful and creative, Robert. You have the perfect contrasty touch!
Aw, thank you, Amy! You always spoil me with such kind comments!
🙂
Dandelions in disguise!
*pssst*
The yellow flower blooms at midnight…
🙂
Perfect contrast! Love them, SIG.
Thank you so much, Nancy! I’m very happy you liked this!
🙂
I wish all the dandelions I have had the misfortune of knowing too well were as pretty as yours!
They were pretty happy (I suspect that’s because they knew you would leave them such a kind comment, Ms. K)!
🙂
Dandy indeed.
Thank you, Loon!
🙂
I guess the high contrast s what gives it such an unusual look. Nice!
Hahaha… that and I asked them to make a silly face.
🙂
This is much lovelier than the ones taking over my front yard. Awesome!
If I had a lawn I’m sure I’d feel differently about dandelions in general (of course if I had a lawn I’d probably try to pave it)!
🙂
The dandelions are fighting back me thinks? 🙂
I like this one a lot SIG, is there nothing that you
cannot create into something wicked like this? 🙂
And so excellently offered as usual my great friend 🙂
I just read that back, it would seem that there is only
me that will understand that one but hey I meant well 🙂 lmao
Your comments always make much more sense to me than mine do, Andro!
Quite honestly I usually confuse the **** out of myself!
🙂
Hahaha… they certainly do look as if they’re about to take over, don’t they?!
How very kind of you to say, Andro! Thank you sir!
🙂
The contrasty dandelions are very ummm… contrasty.
If you want some more I have plenty in my lawn. Feel free to help yourself.
Hahaha… I’ll take that, Tony! Yeah – I’m sure I’d feel much differently about this shot if I was trying to keep a lawn green!
🙂
It’s a cool art. It inspired me a lot. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
That is so wonderful to hear, sir! I thank you very much, too!
🙂
I am just calling in to see what you
are getting up to 🙂 🙂 Have a wicked
Wednesday SIG 🙂
Just doing a little painting… (and stalling – from the painting, I guess). And cussing-out my ‘computer’. Duck, Andro (I think I’m about to kick that thing into orbit and I’m not quite sure where it will land)!
Thank you very much, sir! I hope you are having a good one as well!
🙂
nice photo!!
Thank you so very much!
🙂
Dandy dandes
Hahaha… I hope you ain’t lion!
Thanks, B!
🙂
This is on of my favorite things about summer. Makes you bring back childhood memories.
Awesome, J.B! I’m very happy to hear that, sir!
🙂
Nice couple of dandelions 😀
Why, thank you very much, Cristina!
🙂
I love the black and white effect to this one, Sig…but you knew I would.
I also love dandelions…just not in my yard. 😉 🙂
Aw, thanks, Deb! I was hoping you would like it!
I guess I really don’t mind dandelions, either – of course I’m not doing much yard-work these days, though – so maybe that has something to do with it!
🙂
Nice take Bob – I love Dandy Lions 🙂 Ok – I’d rather not have them in my lawn but… Heyy they have glorious flowers and the budgies enjoy eating the leaves 🙂
That’s a very nice B&W 🙂
Effective use of contrast and dandy lines. Very eye catching.
