This is such a truly wonderful offering
for Memorial Day my great friend 🙂 🙂
Once again your artistic brilliance has
treated everyone that frequents your
Space 🙂 Have a superb Monday SIG
I love the perspective on the angle of this photo. I almost could find myself really really small and trying to walk through the leaves of Lilly’s. Very cool!
Why, thank you! The ‘worm’s-eye view’ was one of the first things that drew me to this, too! All these lilies were placed up fairly high on a cart at a nursery… and I thought it was a kind of interesting view-point!
🙂
BFF and I just enjoyed a peek at the Planetary Triple of Venus (bottom), Jupiter (left) and Mercury (right) in the night sky just past sunset. We’re going to head out again in a few minutes when the sky is a tad darker.
You should be able to view it tonight and tomorrow at sunset (if clouds don’t get in the way).
Very, very cool, Nancy! Unfortunately last night was very cloudy (and rainy) here…
but things look fairly clear so far this evening…
fingers crossed…
🙂
The monochromatic look adds a somber feeling appropriate for Memorial Day. I have some Asiatic Lilies in bloom, and they are in-your-face-orange and red.
Many thanks, Patti! Originally I was thinking of using a bit more color… but I’m often drawn to less… and I was hoping it might be fitting here.
I remember that my grandmother had some bright orange / red lilies, too (I’m not sure what kind they were, but I remember how incredibly vibrant they were)!
🙂
Hahaha… I wish I could take more credit! The nursery did all the heavy lifting, though (these lilies were up fairly high on a cart and just waiting for me)!
🙂
What a perfect image for Memorial Day. The Lily a perfect symbol for serenity after this life, infused with your personal view and color palette.
You did this on a smart phone?! Gah, the cat texts better than I do. You captured a perfect shot and then worked more magic on… a phone.
You spoil me (as always) with your incredibly generous comments, Ms. B… I thank you very much… you really are far too kind!
Hahaha… I know that feeling! I still don’t know what half the stuff on my phone does (go figure the first thing I start playing around with is the camera). I suppose at some point I should probably try to figure out how to make an actual phone call!
🙂
Thank you very, very much!
I’m very happy to hear you liked the processing (I sometimes get a bit carried away with it)! I can’t take much credit for the rest of the set-up, though… it was all ready to go!
🙂
Sounds very similar to the week we’ve had over here, too!
A bit of rain, but fairly nice (and after the winter we’ve had it sure beats a bit of snow)!
I hope you have a good one as well, Andro! Thank you!
🙂
Flowers for the Fallen – Great tribute Bob. “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.” May those who have lost loved ones in the service of their country find peace.
Many, many thanks, Martin…
What an incredible quote (and comment)…
I was not familiar with Binyon (thank you very, very much for sharing that, sir!)…
🙂
Hahaha… it does look like there could be some wonderful, funderful madness going on in there somewhere, doesn’t it?!
I’m very happy to hear that, J.B. – thank you!
🙂
Nice one! It’s very touching. Thanks, Robert! Happy Memorial Day to you, too!
And thank you, Amy! Very, very much! I hope your family is having a wonderful weekend!
🙂
Oops! I left my comment in the other place.
I said: Ai ai ai! Robert, that’s spectacularly beautiful. 😀
Happens to me all the time, S.E!
And I thank you very, very much!
🙂
What a cool flower. They are full of energy.
There was a lot of energy in their color(s), too! I had to make this one black and white just so my camera phone could handle the saturation!
🙂

Many thanks to you, Andro! You are always so very kind, sir! And it is always sincerely appreciated, sir!
🙂
Robert, this is such striking image and very moving for the day. Well done.
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind comment (as always)! I appreciate it very, very much!
🙂
If you would stop always impressing me maybe I could come up with something less kind to say.
Truth is…I calls ’em as I sees ’em.
I don’t know if I quite believe that…
I seriously doubt you are ever anything but kind!
🙂
I am beginning to believe that your smartphone is a lot smarter than mine,
Hahaha… my smartphone is a lot smarter than its operator, too.
🙂
I once knew a Lily of Fields
I knew her cousin. She was from the valley.
🙂
and her sister-in-law was near a ditch (ditch lilies, aka day lilies). 🙂
HA! We’ll be here all week! Please don’t forget to tip your
waitergardener!🙂
I love this…I’ll take it! 🙂
Beautiful work, Sig!
Have a great weekend! 🙂
xxx
What left of the 3 day weekend that is!…Happy Memorial Day! 🙂
Where does the time go?!
I hope you had a happy Memorial Day as well, Deb!

It was a neat view point! Kinda like the movie “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”.
Oh, yes! Hahaha… I had almost forgotten all about that movie!!! I think I might have seen that in a theatre as a kid!
🙂
I agree. That was a great movie!
That’s a very interesting composition, SIG.
Why, thank you, Nancy! Very much!
🙂
Achoo!!! It would have been cool with a giant foot coming down …oh never mind .
Hahaha… send for help, Loon! I seem to be trapped under… what seems to be… well… a giant foot!!!
🙂
From the perspective of the laptop, this almost looks like pen and ink. Beautiful!!
Thank you so very much! While I’ve been missing my DSLR and Photoshop it is amazing what phones can do… mine’s been a real life-saver!
🙂
On an unrelated note: Tonight’s the night! (Last night and tomorrow night too):

A MASTER of many mediums. 🙂 When does it end?? LOL. Back at ya pal.
Hahaha… I don’t know about that, Mr. B… I’m usually lucky if I can figure out just enough to be mildly dangerous / break something!
🙂
I love the perspective on this one. Very nice.
Thank you very much, Binky! These lilies were up (fairly high) on a cart at a nursery…
that perspective was one of the things that drew me to this!

My Stella Dora Lilies are just ready to bloom, they are about a month behind. Lilies are a grand flower…nice shot!
Mary
Hahaha… well, I certainly know the feeling… I’m usually about a month behind, too, you know!
Thank you very much, Mary!
🙂
either you handed your phone to an ant or you dug a trench. a very cool perspective on these! thanks for sharing.

Very cool perspective and post-process. Love the backlit petals.
Thank you very, very much!

Many thanks, Andro!
I hope things are going well for you too, my friend!

It has been a rather nice week so

Have a great Thursday SIG 🙂

A most fine and fitting tribute SiG!
Many, many thanks, Ms. K!

Now I know how Alice felt. I love this one.

It looks good in B&W
Many thanks, Mr. M!

Nothing can compares to this elegant photo of lilies! 😀
How very kind of you to say, Cristina! Thank you so much!
