    • How incredibly kind of you to say, Nancy! Thank you so much! It’s exactly that kind of place! Annabelle and I have spent many hours sitting in this spot (or, one where we’ve cleared away a few of the stones, anyway)!

  1. Wow, Robert. I really love this. I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but it is really sand? In any case, I imagine if you could see sand up close, magnified, yes, then this is what it would look like. Amazing!!

    • Not a stupid question at all, Amy! The unusual viewpoint (and the blur and processing) tends to do some unusual things with how scenes like this seem to ‘read’ (I think, anyway)! It is indeed sand (the smallest ‘grains’)… and a whole lot-o-rocks (that must have taken quite a few years to work their way out of the lake)! πŸ™‚

  2. I love the eye of an artist. Not that I am putting myself in the same category as an artist, but we just never know what will attract the eye and make a wondeful photo. Happy Thursday!

    • I know what you mean, L.B… I feel the same way about that when describing myself, but I would say you absolutely are! Speaking of ‘the eye’, you have quite an impressive one yourself, you know! I always appreciate (and respect) modesty, just be sure not to sell yourself too short!!! πŸ™‚

    • How kind of you to say, thank you! This is a ‘typically’ serene place (view on a post-card kind of way)… funny how much the post-processing… kind of… well… did… this!

    • It’s so interesting you mention that… because one of the first things Annabelle said when she saw this one was that it reminded her of this movie we had just watched (go figure I’ve forgotten the title) which takes place on the moon… and the moon-rocks turn into these tiny, crab-like creature things. Thank you very much, Ms. C! I hope you are having a wonderful holiday weekend, too!

  3. I noticed some thought it looked like Mars or the Moon. I was thinking moon when I first saw. All I can say is that this post is far out! πŸ™‚

  4. This is awesome, and so ‘Lost in
Space’ quality, I love this one SIG πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    I hope that your weekend
has been none stop fun πŸ™‚

  5. I knew the world was really flat! That’s the edge, isn’t it? My mom would have loved this, she was always collecting nice rocks.

  6. So – Finally – Full public disclosure – It was you who faked the Apollo landings for NASA! Don’t know how you fooled everyone – this looks like Brighton beach πŸ˜‰ Nice B&W Bob πŸ™‚

    • Hahaha… well, I could tell you that, Martin… but then when I disappeared ‘they’ would probably tell you I was taking a vacation on the moon (or something along those lines)! πŸ˜‰
      Ha! Many thanks, sir! πŸ™‚

  7. I’ve been watching “Survivor” every day possible while unemployed, and it just hit me the other day, 17 days in, that as much as I claim to love the beach, I would haaaaate to be covered in tiny rocks all of the time. You know it’s all in their food and everything. ANYWAY, this is a really cool shot. I love imagining what you blacked out.

    • DUDE! I just realized… I don’t think I’ve ever seen an entire episode of ‘Survivor’! Seriously… what the heck is wrong with me, U.M?!?! Send for help! At this rate I’ll be voted-off my own blog! πŸ™‚
