Riddle

I built most of this curious contraption, but the text / ‘Devinette’ embroidery was outsourced. Hot-glue gunnery is problematic enough for me… it seems like operating a needle would really have been pressing my luck. Happy Mardi Gras, everyone!

After Aesop; Industry

Here’s a crow… thing. You’re probably thinking, “this looks nothing like Brandon Lee”. Admittedly, the likeness isn’t quite there. This crow looks  more like his cousin. Don. The used car salesman from upstate. Nice guy, Don. He can get you a sweet deal on a gently used Buick.

DUDE! It’s so 3-D in here right now!

WAY back when I put this together (late 1800’s) the cool kids were all about stereoscopic cards, slightly offset images viewed through a stylish pair of glasses (mine were totally Wayfarers) that altered one’s depth perception. 3-D! Or so I’ve heard. I wasn’t into it, as I was still tired-out from my youth… which I spent constructing cliff dwellings.

Houdini… (complete)

So, just to bore thrill my captive readers a bit more, I’ve decided to post my completed ‘Houdini Project’. It has changed slightly from before, after some general abuse and just a tiny bit of fire damage (pretty much just a standard weekday around here).

Anyway, tune in again tomorrow for something different-ish. And remember, only you can prevent Houdini fires. Or… something like that.

About this image: charcoal drawing – digitally colored, distressed and mounted in 8″x10″ frame… thing.

Supply

Hey, man… you can put your *wheat* in there (insert your own original and/or modified Saturday Night Live quote here)!  That line was highly revised, and let’s face it… not quite on par with the Bass-O-Matic or Cowbell skits. Any favorite material of your own? Oh well. You probably aren’t here here for my SNL lecture series… unless… you’re that clever land-shark, aren’t you?!

About this image: Digital Photo (elevator in Alton, Illinois) highly manipulated digitally and transferred onto… uhh… faux  iron framework on/inside 12″x12″ panel.
