Maple in Fog

I’m afraid I will fall way behind with my comments today (depending on how Thanksgiving times-out), but I hope everyone has a good one… and a wonderful weekend as well!

Schmidt: “Anyone who tells you the future of gravy is nitrogen-based is cooking with blinders on, Cece.”

I’m cautiously trying to ‘hop’ back into the whole… non… absence thing. Also, I’ve come to appreciate animals that show no fear (or any ambition re: movement). Unless… you know… they’re bigger than me. Or rabid.

Delmar O’Donnell: “Can’t you see it, Everett? Them sirens did this to Pete! They loved him up and turned him into a… horny toad! Pete? Pete! Pete! Pete! Pete! Pete! Pete! Pete… it’s me… Delmar! It’s me… Delmar! Everett… what are we gonna’ do?!”

Everett McGill: “I’m not sure that’s Pete.”

Delmar O’Donnell: ” ‘Course it’s Pete, look at him! We’ve gotta find some kind of wizard can change him back!”

Everett McGill: “I’m just not sure that’s Pete…”

Originally I airbrushed out this guy’s ‘blemishes’ (because I can relate), but it felt… too ‘perfect’. Sorry, bamboo. But hey, it’s almost Friday… if that helps. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Derek Zoolander: “If there is anything that this horrible tragedy can teach us, it’s that a male model’s life is a precious, precious commodity. Just because we have chiseled abs and stunning features, it doesn’t mean that we too can’t not die in a freak gasoline fight accident.”

– Ben Stiller – Zoolander

English Garden (infrared)

Water. You can probably guess where this is going. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Klaus Daimler: “He’s got hydrogen psychosis, the crazy-eye! Steve! They say you’ve got crazy-eye! Get him out of the f*****g water!”

– Willem Dafoe – The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Cat’s Head Point

Cat’s Head Point was quiet…. surprisingly… quiet…

Charlie Kelly: “Hello! Charlie Kelly here… local business man and cat enthusiast. Is your cat making too much noise all the time? Is your cat constantly stomping around, driving you crazy? Is your cat clawing at your furniture? Think there’s no answer? You’re so stupid! There is! Kitten Mittens! Finally, there’s a elegant, comfortable mitten for cats. I couldn’t hear anything! Is your cat one-legged? Is your cat fat, skinny or an in-between? That doesn’t matter, ’cause one size fits all! Kitten Mittens… you’ll be smitten! So come on down to Paddy’s Pub… we’re the home of the original Kitten Mittens! Meeeeeeoooooow!”

Red Tailed Hawk

I know very little about birds, but Annabelle tells me this guy was/is a Red Tailed Hawk. Anyway, I should have used a faster ISO here, but considering how shaky I am and my luck with animals in general, I guess this will have do.

Dennis Reynolds: “I can absolutely keep a humming bird as a pet, bro. It’s no different than having a parrot or a parakeet… it’s a bird, bro!”

Charlie Kelly: “You really… you really can’t. And I’m not saying I agree with it, it’ s just that bird law, in this country,  it’s not governed by reason.”

Here’s more proof I’d love to visit Japan.

Hopefully it’s not also proof I need a better translation of ‘fujiyama’.

This could get embarrassing.

Speaking of mountains… (for all you  illustrators using digital tablets) would you mind sharing what you use and any other preferences/tips/etc? I’ve never tried one… sounds… nice?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fall

The leaves haven’t changed all that much here yet, so I decided to post a different take on this weeks theme (yet again).

The above was taken at Amnicon Falls State Park. Which is in Wisconsin. Which reminds me of cheese. And That 70’s show. And the Green Bay Packers (which is unfortunate, because I’m a Vikings fan).

Red Forman: “Dear Lord, would it kill you to give the Packers a winning season? Oh, and uh, watch over my loving family, blah blah blah… ”

– Kurtwood Smith – That 70’s Show
