Barn – Rural Michigan

Another shot from summer… have a great weekend, everyone!

Man with Bullhorn: “It’s the authorities! We got you surrounded!”

Ulysses Everett McGill (cowering in hayloft): “Damn! We’re in a tight spot!”

Man with Bullhorn: “Just come on out and grabbin’ air! And don’t try nothing fancy! Your sityeachin is purty nigh hopeless!”

Ulysses Everett McGill: “Damn! We’re in a tight spot!”

Coneys

I’m pretty sure they come with Tater-Tots. So… you know… that’s… nice.

Napoleon Dynamite: “Are you gonna eat your tots?”

Pedro Sanchez: “No.”

Napoleon Dynamite: “Can I have ’em?”

Pedro Sanchez: *nods*

Napoleon Dynamite: *grabs Tater-Tots, shoves them in his pocket and resumes eating lunch*

A Little Hole in the Wall

This doorway is built into the side of a ‘tunnel’ in/under the Eads Bridge, downtown STL. Kinda interesting. I wish I wasn’t so shaky, though (as you can see the following conversation didn’t work out very well for me).

Me: “Sooooo… do you… come here… often?!”

Tripod: *sighs & rolls eyes* “Puhleeeze.”

Common Blue Morpho

Don’t worry… no animals were harmed or mistreated in any way during the production of this post. The above is a paper Morpho peleides from the St. Louis Butterfly House that I’ve strung-up in a pasta sauce jar (which I even took the time to wash out first). You’re welcome, fake butterfly.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hesburgh Library, University of Notre Dame

Here are some random flowers I photographed outside the Hesburgh Library at the University of Notre Dame. There is a reflection pool just beyond these plantings, but I had to crop it out as this entrance was being worked on during our visit and there was construction ‘stuff’ everywhere. Even with the  low vantage point I  had to airbrush out high-reach equipment, etc. Oh well. Good excuse to go back… right?!

Byron ‘Buster’ Bluth (*describing his new construction job*): “…I like it here… and the language these guys use… rough! One of the guys told me to take my head out of my bottom and get back to work! (*cackling laughter*) My bottom!”

Take a Right at the Motherwell…

Why, it’s gallery 338 in the St. Louis Art Museum. Looking into gallery 337. You know… just in case anyone was curious. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Will Hunting: “You paint that?”

Sean Maguire: “Yeah. You paint?”

Will Hunting: “Nuh-uh.

Sean Maguire: “Do you sculpt?”

Will Hunting: “No.”

Sean Maguire: ” Like art? Do you like music?”

Will Hunting: “It’s a real piece of s**t.”

Sean Maguire: “Oh. Well, tell me what you really think.”

Daddy Needs to Get Out More

And now, a conversation with my cat.

Dharma: “Meeeeow.”

Me: “I know, Dharma. I really don’t want to be taking your picture, either. The title pretty much says it all.”

Dharma: “Meeeeow.”

Me: “That’s uncalled for. The same to you, then.”

Dharma: “Meeeeow.”

Me: “Meeeeow.”

I hope you have enjoyed this conversation with my cat. Please keep in mind the ‘details’ would only get lost in translation.

Girl with the Pink Earring

It seems Scarlett Johansson was ‘ unavailable’ to do a Girl with the Pearl Earring shoot. Luckily, Annabelle was willing to rock the heck out of this pink variety. Which is a relief. Because (believe it or not) I can’t quite pull off the look. *whew* Crisis averted.

Transplant

And now, another episode of ridiculous conversations heard only here:

Me: “Do you know if we have any potting soil, Annabelle?”

Anna: “I didn’t know we needed to re-pot anything…”

Me: “We don’t. I just want to pour some dirt on the floor…”

Anna (without  pause): “Oh, okay. There might be some in the broom closet.”

Slow

I apologize for how slow it’s been around here lately… things have been CrAzY! Hopefully calm will return shortly. Although Annabelle and I hope to do a bit of traveling in a week or two to visit my family and unwind a bit. And after we return I may pull my posts back to a couple per week (until I can figure a few things out, anyway). I do plan on visiting everyone as often as possible, though… because you ladies and gents are the best. And that’s just how I slowly roll.

Thanks very much for all the kind comments, everyone – did I mention you’re the best?!
