More trees. More fog. More… other things… on Thursday.
Walt Bishop: “I’ll be out back. *sigh* I’m going to find a tree to chop down.”
– Bill Murray – Moonrise Kingdom

Ah, that’s beautiful, Robert. Lovely tones. I think I’d like to take a walk there. 🙂
Thank you, S.E…
it was early enough to were it was pretty much deserted…
nice and quiet…
very peaceful.
🙂
It’s a great combination between a fog and light. You did a great job and I would like to take similar one. 🙂
Thank you vso much, sir!
I was just lucky to come across that combination…
🙂
Heavy. Noir-ish/romantic.. an evening or morning that could go either way.– and/or one can picture Kafka’s Gregor looking out on it from the deeper trees.. Oh, great –now I’m scared to look in on Thursday! (Well done!)
Oh, wow – thank you so very much, Carol! If I had your talent with words I wouldn’t even have to have all the silly pictures!
Hahaha… no worries… Thursday should be fairly calm… I hope.
🙂
Oh, my, how often I’ve thought that if I had a visual talent like yours, I wouldn’t need all the silly words! It’s more human(e) –and likely more fun– to say something with a photo or a sculpture.
Thank you so very much for your incredibly kind comments!
I always hate to hear people knock their visual talent, though… I have absolutely no doubt it’s there, if you just give it a chance!!!
🙂
Oooooh, lawdy! That is spectacular! I always adore black and white photography, yours is ethereal, and highly professional too. Boy, you’ve just got to open up an online shop – people will buy prints for Christmas, I swear! They’re selling pics all over Etsy, too.
Aw, shucks! Thank you, Spectra… very, very much!
I don’t know about that… I just take about a million photos a time (which insures I’ll have one or two I don’t completely hate… sometimes, anyway)!
🙂
I love how the street lights lead right off the frame into nowhere. Kind of creepy. I don’t think I’d want to be alone there at night…
Normally it probably wouldn’t be nearly as sinister a place, Ms. C… but the fog really hid a lot of more every day ‘stuff’ from view (which does kind of help if you want to hide a random coffee house or two)…
🙂
You know I love that way fog makes nature look. And you, my friend have done it again. This is a lovey photo! 🙂 xxx
I have to admit I went a bit wild the other day… I was so excited to see the fog (and how much it transformed the ‘stuff’ I look at every day) that I was running around like… well, like I normally do… but… still…
🙂
Thanks so much, Deb!!!
🙂
Your welcome. 🙂
I Had to come back for another look, Sig…it’s really nice! 🙂 xxx
It’s always so nice to see you, Deb! Thank you very much!
I hope this week has been treating you well!
🙂
Beautiful Image!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and liking “If Ungrateful”. Glad your visit led me here. I look forward to seeing more of your work as I am really enjoying your images.
Please stop by and visit my blog again soon!
Robyn
I was very happy to do so! Sometimes when I have a few minutes I like to scroll through the WP ‘Photo’ tagged images, and your work definitely caught my eye! And with the volume of cool stuff on W.P… that takes some doing! I’m very much looking forward to checking out more of your images, too!
🙂
Wow, SIG! Oh, I really love this one. This is one of my favorites, hands down. Amazing. I love the fog (you know) and the lights shining through. You outdid yourself with this one!
I’m so happy to hear you liked this one, B.F! Especially since I was so excited to see the fog, too! I think it’s so wild how much it changed the way I saw… pretty much… everything! Kind of fun!
Thank you again, B.F! You are always so very kind!
🙂
Moonrise Kingdom has been used 3 times now. You have to move on.
Wait… only 3 times?
I’d better step-up my game!
Thanks for the warning, Bearman!
😉
I almost expect Jack the Ripper to step out!
Stole my thought ….
Wus this, missus?!
*in my best cockney accent… which is a… not… very… good… cockney accent*
🙂
See, it’s not just me! 🙂
Jack better be careful…
the yard might not be on to him, but everyone else seems to be!
🙂
Hahaha…
*dun dun dun*!
Wait a minute… now that you mention that… I’m kind of glad it didn’t happen. Not that I’m a ‘lady of the evening’ from the late 1800’s… but… you know… why press your luck, right?!
🙂
LOL! You don’t strike me as the dainty type. 😉
HA!
That’s a pretty big relief! I was afraid someone was going to expect a curtsy!
🙂
Excellent shot. I love the glow of the lamps in the fog. Fog pictures are just so cool. Hope you had a great turkey day.
Many thanks, Red! I’ve been wanting to take some fog photos for such a l-o-n-g time now…
I was so excited to get the opportunity a few days ago! I was like a kid in… a very foggy… candy store!
Thank you again, Red! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!
🙂
The scene is set and all we need now is a horde of Zombies walking over that rise, red eyes and shouting Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains 🙂 I really like the atmosphere on this one SIG you’ve done a wonderful job creating this misty offering )
Androgoth
Hahaha… indeed, Andro! I’ll have to remember to use a longer lens next-time…
a zombie hoard would make for some pretty interesting subject matter…
but I’d sure hate to give them a chance to catch me!
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, as always, A.G!
🙂
I really love this amazing image Bob ,Beautiful transformation my friend 🙂
I thank you, Jake! Very much, sir! I was really just lucky to find myself in the right place at the right time.
🙂
pardon the whisper, but this place doesn’t lend itself to shouting. can you hear that hush of silence? what might it be hiding? you just never know who might be standing behind one of those trees, so am keeping it down.
but i did want to say, er whisper, what a fantastic composition. the fog adds such an element of drama to those tree silhouettes. and those lamp posts trying to stand up to that fog….. so cool. thanks for sharing.
*tip-toeing off now, (slink, slink).* you just never know.
*trying to remember to use my ‘inside’ (and foggy photo) voice*
Thank you so very much, P&K!
I have been wanting to try some fog photos for quite some time now, so I was pretty excited to look out the window and see I might get a chance at it! And then I was thrilled when I managed to get my camera & get outdoors… and it was still there!!!
🙂
As much as I love sunny days . . . I also love fog. Well done.
Isn’t it interesting how much it changes the things we get so ‘used-to’ seeing, Nancy?!
Kind of fun, I think… especially when it hangs around long enough to get out a camera!
🙂
That’s very nice. Looks like an old print.
Thank you very much, sir!
After reading your comment I started wondering what this one might have looked like as a fake wet-plate… hmmm…
🙂
I’m sure it would look good!
It might be fun to try!
🙂
Ooooh…I think I see Jack the Ripper hiding around the bend.
That’s probably just cousin Earl.
He’s only murder on the furniture.
Guy refuses to use a coaster.
🙂
Duuuuuuuude. Totally gorgeous. Love the darks and lights.
I think the best line from that movie was when Francis asked if Bill minded that his daughter had run away, and he said, “That’s a loaded question.” Hit me just right.
Hahaha… I love that… as she’s leaning out the window with her megaphone…
Thank you so much, U.M!
🙂
Fantastic atmosphere you make here. Silent and stunning SIG
I’m so happy to hear you liked this, Astra! Thank you!
It was so cool to see how dramatically that fog changed the look of things!
🙂
Serene yet stark enough to be menacing. The orderliness of the lampposts stands in contast with the gauzy quality of the fog.
Thank you so very much!
I had been wanting to try some foggy landscape photos for ages…
needles to say I was pretty happy when… well, when there was finally fog!
🙂
OOOh gorgeous. I am loving the atmosphere in this one, Inky! A+++
Thank you so very much, Dishy!
I was so excited when I saw all the fog… I’d been wanting to try stuff like this for quite some time!
🙂
This one is kind of creepy. Most horror movies sceens happen in this place. So Great shot.
Speaking of creepy… did anyone see what happened to my lens cap?!
Thanks so much, JB!
🙂
Beautiful place 🙂
It is very nice, indeed! I think you would like it, Ms. B!
🙂
Another great tree shot. I love the atmosphere created in by Phog in Photos
Anytime the clouds do all the heavy-lifting for me, I’m a happy camper.
Unless… you know…
I am actually camping at the time.
🙂
wow wow! super amazing! Why would Bishop wanna chop down such a beautiful tree?@0@
A very good question, Cristina!
I suspect he was just looking for attention…
hopefully he’ll change his mind by the time he gets outside!
🙂
I hope so 😀 Haha
🙂
Beautiful piece. Wonderful mood & tone.
I thank you, sir!
Mother nature gets all the credit there…
I was just fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time!
🙂
The row of lights forms a garland to entwine the trees.
I hadn’t quite seen it that way before you mentioned it, Patti!
That’s kind of cool! I like that!
🙂
Great atmosphere! 🙂
It was so much fun to see how much that fog changed the things I look at so often!
Many thanks, sir!
🙂
Excellent shot Bob – Sepia Simplicity 🙂
Many thanks, Martin!
It seems like I need to remind myself to keep things simple…
because I think it works best for me…
otherwise I tend to get almost lost at times.
🙂
Looks kinda cold!
Felt kind of cold, too (my fingers were a bit numb by this point)!
🙂
So much inviting warmth in this foggy scene SiG. Perhaps I have my weather wires crossed but a decent fog in your captivating shot is as exciting to me as palm trees and sunsets are to others!
Thank you so much, Ms, K!
I have to say… I was pretty excited to find that fog outside my window when I woke-up… I had been wanting to try shooting in some for a very long time, but never seemed to have the opportunity! I couldn’t help but think it was pretty amazing how much it transformed my impressions of things I see nearly every day!
🙂
Wonderful light! So peaceful. I wish I could have been there!
Me too, Annabelle…
🙂
Oh, love it… excellent composition too!
And I love trees…
And I love the work you create with them, Malin!
🙂
Oh, thank you – now I’m blushing 😉
