Byronically Speaking…

When The Byronic Man asked me to participate in his famous 20 questions segment I was thrilled! I was honored! I was… obviously confused (my cryptic rambling made no sense – at all). Still, I had a blast – and I think you will, too. Even if I leave you face-palming, the hilariously entertaining Byronic Man makes up for any bruising.Β  So, if you haven’t yet, please head over and check out The Byronic Man. I know you want to. The cookie never lies.

Festival Director: “Ladies and gentlemen, we are very pleased to welcome you to the world premiere of Part 1 of the newest film from a great favorite of ours here at Loquasto, Mr. Steve Zissou. A brief Q & A will immediately follow the screening. Thank you.”

– Antonio Monda – The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

    • You should be confused, Bearman… cause I kinda messed this up. And by kinda, I mean… totally.
I think the feature goes up today, but it hasn’t quite yet, so the links all go to TBM’s homepage… I’ll remove the first few lines / disclaimer and link it up later. Or TRY to. No promises with the way I think these things through… or… don’t.

  1. Ha! Thooroughly enjoyed the read over at Byronic Man. You answered the questions as I would have expected you to…with honesty and humor! πŸ™‚

Love the image. But now I’m hungry for take-out Chinese…. πŸ˜‰

    • It was so much fun and such an honor, M.P… I had a blast!
Felt kinda’ bad at the same time, though (because obviously ‘the words’ aren’t my strong suit)!
Hahaha… welcome to my world, M.P! I recommend the garlic chicken combination plate. Comes with crab rangoons and egg-drop soup…

  2. Years ago there was a fortune cookie factory in Oakland that would make custom cookies with anything you wanted printed on them. So I sent my dad a bag of cookies all with the same fortune: “Your son is bright, handsome, and deserves a big inheritance.”

    • HA!
You know what’s funny… now that you mention it… I seem to remember seeing something similar in the past, too (maybe in one of those mail order ‘humorous gifts’ magazines?)! Hahaha… pretty sure my cookie would have needed to be worded a bit differently…

  3. I’m seeing your fortune now SIG!

Confucius says: You will soon be asked a lot of questions for which you have many answers. πŸ™‚

Great job over at the B-man’s blog.

  4. That fortune cookie looks more real than the one I got with my Chinese takeout last week! I can see every nook and cranny in yours. πŸ™‚
    Hugs xx

  5. I thought this was a pancake that had been thrown onto the floor,
perhaps one of the Wombies with a distaste for a weedy chocolate
topping but now that I know it is a fortune cookie it just goes to show
how little i know about Chinese cuisine 😦

    Either way i like what
you have done with it SIG πŸ™‚
    Have a Ghoulish evening πŸ™‚

    • Hahaha… floor pancakes sound awfully appetizing compared to some of the horrors that have come out of my kitchen, A.G.! Let’s just say I put the ‘gas’ in gastronomy!
Why, thank you, sir! I hope that you have a wonderful evening and weekend as well!
      πŸ™‚

      • That sounds like a nasty case of the
dreaded Fartz, of the humble bean variety 😦
Try some burnt toast next time and your
wife will love you for it πŸ™‚ Well either that or
purchase a really good gas mask πŸ™‚ lol

I can’t wait for your next offering and no I
don’t mean one similar to what was left in
        the kitchen 😦 lmao

Have a great weekend SIG πŸ™‚

        • HA! I do feel a bit better now that the official diagnosis has been confirmed…
I feel like recovery is just around the corner, now!

Hahaha… thank you again, Andro! I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well… a weekend that’s completely free of any kitchen cleaning duty!
          πŸ™‚

    • Absolutely, Ms. S! I think you’ll really enjoy his wonderful sense of humor (and brilliant writing style)!
Aw, there’s nothing wrong with Janet! And I should know… because I’ve been called a few names that would make these look pretty ‘average’!
      πŸ™‚

    • Thank you so much, sir!
I’ve actually had this photo sitting in the buffer for a little while, now… I was just trying to decide what text to add to the ‘fortune’… but it seemed like this was a good opportunity to make use of it!
      πŸ™‚

    • REALLY?! Wow! I’ve had so many… I almost feel bad about that now! I’ve heard there’s nothing very traditional about theses things… that it’s more-or-less an americanized restaurant tradition (not sure if that’s true or not). Either way, though… the cookies are okay (they’re kind of plain, really), but the fortune part is always kinda fun… in a silly sort of way.

  6. Not a cookie cutter image. πŸ™‚ An interesting set of responses to the 20 qts.
Remember, ” Ask not for whom the Fortune Cookie Tolls, they will bring it with the bill to your Booth.”

    • Thanks so much, sir! As you know, I’m not much of a writer… at all… but it was quite an honor to be asked to participate… and I had lots of fun with it, too!
Hahaha… wait… there aren’t any coupons stashed away in these cookies? *glances in wallet* This could be a problem!
      πŸ™‚

    • You know what’s funny…
for some reason it never occurred to me there might be a homemade version of fortune cookies! I guess it’s just not the kind of thing I associated with… say… a batch of chocolate chip cookies in that way. Still, if it can be cooked or baked etc. I KNOW you can do it with great skill (if you haven’t already)!

  7. Why DO the ladies love Abe so much? It can’t just be the honesty. It can’t just be because he obviously likes his women with a little meat on their bones. It must be the vampire-slaying. My dad loves him, too. I’m not even sure he knows about the vampire thing yet, though.
