        One of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten re: art/etc. is you shouldn’t constantly ‘compare’ yourself to others… just keep working on what interests/inspires you… others see that in your work, too!

        It’s the truth… just difficult to see that sometimes, I think… because it’s so easy to get hung up on things in our own work! It’s great to want to keep improving, but every now and then I think it’s very important to stop and see how far you’ve come and recognize all the great things that you are doing already (and have been doing for quite some time, too)!

  Hahaha… to be fair, there are some very talented folks who do great stuff with Instagram (start off as photographers / artists first), but yeah. A bit depressing at the same time. I have to admit I’d love to have an iPhone, too, though… just to always have a camera with me. And for street stuff, because I feel I’d be much more comfortable if people didn’t notice me lugging around an SLR.

  Very happy to hear the effect is similar! I had help with this one, though… started out as 35mm (shot with a Holga), so less modifying on that front. I still messed with things a bit, though (can never quite resist the urge to do so)!

  When I was younger we played a lot under a bridge, too! Ours was much, much smaller than this, though, as we grew up in the country and it spanned a much, much smaller river. The road surface was gravel, too… just to give you a better idea of the scale.

  I was processing this one to look a bit older, when I realized that car had to be a ninety-something (probably). Not only that, but it’s obviously not ‘new’ in this shot, either. That’s why I used ’02’ as my fake date at the bottom… in the hopes it might read as older camera, newer shot.

I just now read the comments and it seems it was played on one of those vampire shows recently, you know one of those shows I never watch since I don’t watch any network tv shows lol.
