    • Thank you very much, Patti!
A lot of that came ‘built-in’ from the Holga…
      I love ‘vintage stuff’…
but I guess that was probably pretty obvious, huh?!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too, thank you!

    • I was having a difficult time finding a title for this one, and then that song just popped into my head…
seemed like they fit together pretty well.
      Thank you very much, S.E.!

  1. Yes I agree with Pattisj on the ageing of the photograph, and there is nothing finer than adding Sepia tones, well something like that as I am definitely no expert on the settings of one’s photographs πŸ™‚ Have a great Easter Weekend SIG πŸ™‚

    • Happy to hear you liked the effect, sir!
Always so many ‘options’ when processing a photo… sometimes it’s difficult to choose one over the others! Aged/retro/vintage/grunge is probably one of my favorite ‘looks’, though…
you’ve probably guessed that by now, though!
Thanks much, A.G.! I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend as well, sir!
      πŸ™‚

    • It’s kinda funny… that song just popped into my head when I was trying to think about what to write about (or what to even call this one)…
Many thanks, Dishy! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too!

  2. This one here looks like a photo from the 60’s or 70’s. Well if I knew more about cars maybe I would get one of those decades right. Great work as always, Sig!
    Hugs, xx

    • Happy to hear the image has that kind of feel to it! Funny, it wasn’t until AFTER it dawned on me this car was much ‘newer’ than my processing… so I’ve just been pretending it’s a ‘newer’ shot taken with an ‘older’ camera!
      Many thanks, Deb!
      πŸ™‚

    • I was having a difficult time coming up with a title for this one,
and that song is the first thing that came to mind!
I was hoping it would be a nice fit!
      Thank you, F.T.!
      πŸ™‚

      • Thanks, Tony! That’s what I was going for with the processing, until it dawned on me the car is much newer than that. So I’ve just been telling myself this is a newer shot taken with an older camera.
If only I could convince myself to do a better job of convincing myself.
        πŸ™‚

          • You are great at what you do, Mr. M! Please never do that!
Although I’ll admit I go through the same thing all the time… we’re often our own worst critics.
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten re: art/etc. is you shouldn’t constantly ‘compare’ yourself to others… just keep working on what interests/inspires you… others see that in your work, too!
            πŸ™‚

          • Thanks for the encouragement Robert. To be told I am great at what I do is a massive compliment from someone of your artistic abilities. Thank you.

          • Oh, I don’t know about that, Tony!
            But don’t mention it!
It’s the truth… just difficult to see that sometimes, I think… because it’s so easy to get hung up on things in our own work! It’s great to want to keep improving, but every now and then I think it’s very important to stop and see how far you’ve come and recognize all the great things that you are doing already (and have been doing for quite some time, too)!
            πŸ™‚
            πŸ™‚

    • No, you’re right about that, Bearman… the Missouri River runs under this bridge… just past the frame.
You are running one of those water witching services, aren’t you?!
      πŸ™‚

  3. Instagram for the actually-talented! The blurry corners are doin’ it for me, for some reason.

Also, I think that song is truly, truly terrific, but the choir part at the end bothers me SO MUCH that I can barely listen to it. Why are you wailing?!

    • Hahaha… to be fair, there are some very talented folks who do great stuff with Instagram (start off as photographers / artists first), but yeah. A bit depressing at the same time. I have to admit I’d love to have an iPhone, too, though… just to always have a camera with me. And for street stuff, because I feel I’d be much more comfortable if people didn’t notice me lugging around an SLR.
HA! Pepper in the eye, perhaps?! That would probably = some pretty serious wailing!

  4. This photo reminds me of the bridge in Copland – and probably a couple of other American movies as well. Interesting effect you’ve created – looks just like a couple of old instamatic prints in my Mother’s old albums πŸ™‚

    • Copland! That I actually have seen! It’s been a while though… I’ll have to ‘Google’ the bridge and compare!
Very happy to hear the effect is similar! I had help with this one, though… started out as 35mm (shot with a Holga), so less modifying on that front. I still messed with things a bit, though (can never quite resist the urge to do so)!
      Many thanks, Martin!
      πŸ™‚

  5. I love the analogue photo look! Again you have captured a place that I wish I could visit…When I was a kid we always played under bridges like this, we made camps and defended our own little empires.
    Nice work my friend πŸ™‚

    • Thanks much, B.P!
When I was younger we played a lot under a bridge, too! Ours was much, much smaller than this, though, as we grew up in the country and it spanned a much, much smaller river. The road surface was gravel, too… just to give you a better idea of the scale.
      πŸ™‚

    • Hahaha… both, really!
You definitely can’t tell in the shot, but much further down this bridge spans the Missouri River… so you are even more right on with that comment than you knew, P&K!
Thank you! And to you, too, of course!
      πŸ™‚

    • I like it quite a bit, too!
Hadn’t heard it in a very long time, but it came to mind before anything else when I was trying to decide what to title this one…
      πŸ™‚

    • I thank you for that, Ms. B!
Wasn’t sure what to call this one… hadn’t heard that song in quite some time, but for some reason it’s the first thing that came to mind.
      πŸ™‚

  6. What’s going on in that car? Is it abandoned? Are people making out in the backseat?
We’ll never know. That’s the beauty of it. πŸ™‚

  7. Under the bridge downtown…

Is where I parked last night…

    Under the bridge downtown…

I could not get far enough away so that someone wouldn’t still walk up and take pictures of my stuff…

    Under the bridge downtown…

Forgot about my beer can and left it in the grass…

    Under the bridge downtown…

    I gave my car away!!!

  8. (For those people not in our apartment right now… I have been singing my version of the song in a very high falsetto for Robert. It rocks. I rock. The band should totally call me. Just saying.) πŸ˜›

    • I just Googled ‘falsetto’.
      Let’s see…
we’ve got some dudes with ukuleles, the BeeGees… Prince, no, I’m sorry, The Artist Formerly known as Prince, no, I’m sorry, The Artist, no, The Symbol…
      anyway, interesting results.
      πŸ™‚

  9. Those bridges look like some that are around here. Even into the eighties, they had snapshots processed like this. Though the car looks early to mid nineties. Maybe it’s a retro-time camera?

    • You nailed it, sir!
I was processing this one to look a bit older, when I realized that car had to be a ninety-something (probably). Not only that, but it’s obviously not ‘new’ in this shot, either. That’s why I used ’02’ as my fake date at the bottom… in the hopes it might read as older camera, newer shot.
      πŸ™‚

  10. I’ve not heard much of the Red Hot Chili Peppers; so I thought why not pull up the song on YouTube and listen to it while contemplating your art? What? Too much time on my hands? Maybe. I recognized the song right away and it married well with the art, good choice! I think I have an email address for you, maybe. I’ll send a link to Annabelle, it made me think of her. You’ll see why.

    • It’s funny… this was one of those posts I was having a very difficult time coming up with a title for… but I kept thinking ‘bridge’, and then that song just popped into my head (and I hadn’t heard it for a really long time, either). Seemed kinda appropriate, though.
Thanks so much, Lynn – I’ll be sure and tell Annabelle to have a look at the comments as soon as she gets back! We both really like Band of Horses! I’ve been a fan ever since ‘The Funeral’ was featured in some commercial (for a car – I think). Anyway, I had no clue who sang it, or what it was, but thanks to the power of the inter-webs I was finally able to figure it out. Great song, Lynn! Thank you!
      πŸ™‚

  11. Apparently I don’t have your email address afterall. This song has been on my YouTube playlist for almost a year, I came across it accidentally and loved it from that moment on. I just now read the comments and it seems it was played on one of those vampire shows recently, you know one of those shows I never watch since I don’t watch any network tv shows lol. Annabelle you’ve probably already heard it but in the event you haven’t- I want you to know that I think of you everytime I’ve heard it the past year no matter which country I’m in. πŸ™‚ Lynn
