I’m afraid I don’t understand why the term Hiatus is used for taking a break.
OK I Googled & found this definition.
hi·a·tus [hahy-ey-tuhs] Show IPA
noun, plural hi·a·tus·es, hi·a·tus.: a break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc.
I had only ever heard it used in the term Hiatus Hernia as Michelle had one once in her stomach wall so I thought it was just a medical term. I couldn’t see how a hernia related to taking a break.
Now I see all things clearly…
