I will have my fruit on the ‘slide’, please! *hehehe… eh*
The cherries seemed to go over pretty well, so I decided to give some other fruit a try, too. Plus Kiwi was on sale – 3 for $1.00. Score.
*om nom nom*
About this image: digital photograph, moderately modified
It’s the trail that really makes it, ya know?
Thanks, Dishy –
I thought so, too.
🙂
Awesome! It looks yumtastic. I kinda want to lick the screen…
HA! Is that why our monitor is so streaky?!
🙂
I could almost taste it! Love the vibrant color of the Kiwi!
It’s a very interesting fruit, isn’t it? I remember the first time I saw one… I must have spent at least 15 minutes examining the crazy thing! 🙂
They remind me of testicles.
Suddenly I feel bad about slicing this one up so badly.
😉
anyone wants to still lick it?
Hahaha…
I think I’ll pass…
🙂
I’ve met two types of kiwi eaters: those who eat the skin and those who don’t. Both think the other is weird.
You know…
I don’t think I even knew you could eat the skin! Now am all curious! Thanks very much for stopping by, Jason! 🙂
I eat the skin
Really? Other people have mentioned that, too – I have to admit… I had no idea! 🙂
Refreshingly delicious! Er, I mean, refreshingly beautiful!
Thank you very much, Ms. D!
I’m glad this one wasn’t too sour! 🙂
This is great! I can almost taste it! 🙂
Thanks so much!
Come to think of it, I probably should have tried a piece. The 5 second rule came and went on that piece-o-kiwi, but still…
🙂
My photographer friend and I were just talking about you at dinner last night. We were having an absolute meatfeast at a Brazilian all-you-can-eat place, and you came up. Isn’t that nice to know?
But yeah, I was telling him about the cherries and how much I loved them. And then this pops up in my Google Reader today. I’m going to go ahead and claim responsibility.
Hahaha – so THAT’S why my nose was itching!
Man, I hope I didn’t put you and your friend off your Brazilian eats!
Thanks so much, U.M. – this wouldn’t be the friend who photographed the cardinal? 🙂
It was! Aww, man, now it seems like I only have one friend. But yeah, we were talking about the ability to take a fairly standard photo and turn it into something worth looking at twice using Photoshop effects. I’m not sure I have the eye for that, but you and he both do, and I was saying that I’d love to see your original photos alongside their processed brothers like I have with his.
Hahaha… not at all! Just a wild guess!
Interesting… I’ve been toying with that idea myself… I might just try that shortly (I think that’s a very good idea, U.M.)! 🙂
Here’s something along those lines…
Funny–I thought there was a chance you wouldn’t want to show your befores and afters and give away your secrets, but not only do I still not know your secrets, but now I’m even more impressed with the photo than I was when it seemed to just naturally come out that way.
Oh I just Loooove kiwi fruit. But where’s the ice cream. The green against the B&W background is really effective
Kiwi and ice cream? I have to admit I’ve never tried that combination, Tony… it sounds pretty good, though!
Thank you very much! We have a few of these metal plates upstairs in our store, and I’ve really enjoyed using them as backdrops. 🙂
Kiwi is an all-time favorite of mine! Rugged, delicate and colorful, I’m lovin’ what you do with your fruit S-i-g! I’ll have to try the kiwi + icecream thing too. 🙂
It’s an interesting food, isn’t it?
Thanks so much, Lynn! I’ve got a few more ideas in mind too, but those might be in the works for a while, though…
🙂
Looks like the start of a series, SIG. I don’t know if you can beat the beautiful and erotic cherries though.
The slide works so well. That kiwi fruit looks over ripe and a bit bruised so I don’t want to eat it I’m afraid. Eating the skin?!! How uncomfortable!
It seems like there might be a shot or two in a pomegranate…
I completely agree S.E., this one isn’t infused with as much ‘stuff’ as the cherries are. Without the ‘trail’ I doubt it would work at all for me.
I honestly had no idea kiwi skin was even edible until today… interesting…
🙂
I must say I’ve never heard of anyone eating the skin. It would be like eating rodent fur 😦
*cough cough gag*
Look it is Karma. We both posted about round green food today.
Good call, Bearman…
I guess we both got the memo! 🙂
Love the boldness of the color of the kiwi. it really sets off the design nicely.
Thank you very much, George! I really desaturated the background as well to make it stand out a bit more, too.
Thank you so much for stopping by – I really appreciate it! 🙂
It does make a very good pair with the cherries picture. The colour really stands out against the background. You could do this with all sorts of fruits.
Thank you very much, Binky!
I think you’re right…
it seems like a pomegranate might be interesting…
🙂
love the color selection u did. it kiwi looks alive and vibrant.
Thank you very much, Mr. J!
I toned back / desaturated the background quite a bit in the hope I would get just that reaction! 🙂
That composition is odd enough that I like it!! And the color contrast, too.
Thanks very much, sir!
I’m not sure this one was effective as the cherries, but it does seem like there’s still a little ‘something going on’ there… I think… maybe…
🙂
Great color, with that thin line of skin around the edge outlineint the kiwi-green, and a nice grungy background. It tastes cool and a little sweet-sour.
Very kind of you to say, sir! We have a few of these metal plates in our attic that have such wonderful grungy texture… I’ve been having a lot of fun using them as backdrops. Thank you so much for stopping by, Mr. D! 🙂
This is great! Looks like the kiwi version of ‘Wilson’. 🙂
Hahaha…
He’s such a bum. I’m always making random fires, and huts, and searching for water, and he just sits there looking all aloof. Blah. 🙂
Have to love it when it’s on sale.
Absolutely! My wallet loves it, too! 🙂
Three for a dollar… that sure is a good buy! But the best thing is what you did with the kiwi. LOVE it!!
Thank you very much for the kind words, Juana – I had a lot of fun with this… and on the cheap, too! Two for two isn’t bad! 🙂
Nicely done and processed this would have also worked for the “round” challenge.
Thank you very much!
Good call, Ms. R – I had not thought of that! 🙂
Well that looks pretty perfect to me, and has the horror film mood to it… Although I’m not entirely sure how threatening a slice of kiwi could be though… but this one certainly looks like it could give a grape of two a run for their money…
Thank you very much, sir!
Hahaha… I hear this one’s gotten some attention in all the major food groups…
🙂
