Keep on truckin’ everyone.
Do people still use that line? Probably not.
Still… that’s about all that comes to mind right now.
It seems like the truck’s got my tongue. Or… something like that.
About this image: digital photograph, lightly modified
We don’t see much of these over here although in the countryside most people do drive trucks but these are more of the Japanese varieties. I like the aged patina on the back of the truck and the simplicity of composition! Nice one SIG!
Thank you very much, sir!
I was pretty excited when I saw this parked near my old apartment… I thought the rust was kinda’ cool…
🙂
I love the repetitive lines and curves. Very cool. I wonder if this truck is still hanging out in Grand Forks.
Thanks very much, Annabelle!
At almost $4.00 a gallon it just might be! 🙂
LOL!
$ 😦 $
I like this picture very, very much.
That was very nice to hear, Ms. D! Thank you so much! 🙂
very cool perspective and crop!
Thank you very much, J.G.!
Haha – no matter how hard I try to crop in-camera I almost always wind off snipping off random ‘bits’ later on…
🙂
It says Ford & I see rust. I don’t know about in your part of the world but here in Australia for non-Ford owners FORD stands for Four Old Rusty Doors. also Found On Rubbish Dump
Hahaha…
there are plenty of creative acronyms around here, too, Tony! For pretty much any make and model! 🙂
Nice composition. I like the way that rolled edge of rusty steel divides the image. “Fix or Repair Daily” was the one I remember…
Thank you so much, sir – that’s very kind of you!
Hahaha – I’ve heard few, but that might be a new one for me! 🙂
What a cool truck… Looks very interesting, and even more so if it’s been left to the elements, as they make such interesting subjects..
I completely agree, F.S. – generally I find stuff that looks at history/decline to be pretty fascinating…
🙂
love the rust, it photographs so well doesn’t it?
Thanks so much, N.M. –
absolutely! I could spend days staring at rusty ‘stuff’…
🙂
Nice, I like it. What is Red River? Name brand or bumper sticker?
Thanks very much, Mel!
I shot this one back in North Dakota where I grew up – the eastern boundary of the state is formed by the Red River (and that part of N.D. is known as the Red River Valley). I think that was probably a dealership sticker… 🙂
Thanks for the explanation.
I do what I can, Mel…
when I’m up to it, anyway. 🙂
YES, THEY DO USE THAT PHRASE! I was driving to a meeting with a co-worker today and she used it!! I thought, wow! that’s still said?
So when I read your post(got you in my favorites) I cracked up… What a small world, lol!!
Hahaha… how about that?! I’m glad I’m not the only one who uttered that gem today!
Thank you so much, Juana – that’s very kind of you! I’ll get my blogroll updated shortly, too! 🙂
I bet that truck could tell a tale or two. I’ve been scared of trucks since watching Duel as a kid 😦
Indeed, F.L. – that would be interesting, wouldn’t it!
Hmm… I’ve never seen Duel… now I’m very curious about it though! 🙂
Steven Spielberg !!!!! Dennis Weaver !!!! One bad assed truck!!!!
Hahaha…
sounds like a heck of a ride, F.L.! 🙂
another great image. Love the colors…..
so what if the truck got your tongue….an image is worth 1000 words! hehe
That is very kind of you, Marina – thank you!
Thank goodness! I’d be in serious trouble otherwise! 🙂
Hell yeah, youre lookin at a bonafide Hot Tuna fan here!
“Keep on truckin’ mama, truck my blues away” la la lala
That Ford logo looks old- late 40s? Cool pic!
Nice tunes, Lynn – I even turned down my iPod for that performance!
I’m not sure about that, Lynn, but I suspect your pretty close on that. Thanks so much! 🙂
Very nice texture and composition. (Looks to me like late 40’s-early 50’s, but it’s hard to tell by just the cab’s roof line.)
Thank you very much, Binky – that’s very kind of you!
I think it turned out more interesting than if the truck was in mint condition.
I’m not sure, but I think you’re probably very close on that, Binky! 🙂
I love it, SIG. Neat composition. Cool typeface. Lovely bit of grunge. Lovely colours. 🙂
I’m happy to hear you like it, S.E.!
This one was pretty easy – didn’t take much editing at all – it was pretty much just sitting there ready to go! 🙂
Love it!
Thanks very much, Y.A.W.! 🙂
I had to look again at this a few minutes until I realized it’s the back end of the truck…very good shot! Fords rule!! 😀
Yeah…
I had to sneak up on this one…
*spy music*
🙂
man, I go off for 10 days or so and look at all the cool stuff you’ve set up!! Nicely done, keep on truckin and the next thing you know we’ll have a convoy workin’….
Eh… keeps me out of trouble. For a while, anyway.
Hahaha… 10-4, good buddy!
🙂
